The price is right if you are a contestant on it.

The producers of "The Price is Right" carefully select all contestants, unlike many people who think that contestants are randomly chosen. It's not easy to get picked, but with some careful planning and the right amount of enthusiasm, you could be the next person called to come on down for a chance to win some great prizes.

Step 1: Make sure you meet the requirements.

It can be difficult to apply to be a contestant on "The Price is Right".It is best to make sure that you are eligible before applying. You must be at least 18 years old to qualify.Have not been on The Price is Right in the past 10 years or more if you are a legal resident of the U.S.Don't be running for office. Not related to anyone who works for The Price is Right, CBS Corporation, or CBS Broadcasting Inc.

Step 2: Get a free ticket for the taping.

You can get them here: http://on-camera-audiences.com/shows/ The Price is Right. To get a ticket, fill out the form on the page and pick a taping date from the list. You can get admission if you show up on time.Admission is on a first-come, first served basis. You will have to get a priority ticket if the show date is further into the future. You will probably get a line voucher if you wait until the last minute. If you have a disability, you can reserve seating by calling and requesting it at least 24 hours before the taping time and date.Groups of 10 to 20 can reserve tickets by email at groupbooking@ocatv.com between 9:00 am and 5:00 pm Pacific Standard Time.Go with a friend and order a ticket. You can keep your space in line if you need to get out of the line.

Step 3: You can arrange a trip to the studio.

The show's schedule can be found on the website. If you live far away, book a flight to Los Angeles far in advance of the taping and choose an affordable hotel nearby.Pack clothing and other materials a few days before your trip to make sure you have everything you need. The minimum age to attend a taping is 18 and you will need a government-issued ID to present to the producers.

Step 4: It is a good idea to wear light, neutral clothing on the day of the taping.

Television cameras contrast clothing with designs.Your chances of being selected will be reduced if you wear these clothes. The producers are not going to pick you if you wear clothes with offensive slogans. You cannot wear clothes with visible corporate logos, and may not be allowed in the studio with a company- branded shirt on.

Step 5: You can leave banned items in your hotel room.

Cellphones and watches can be used to cheat and will be taken away by security before you can enter the studio.Rather than dealing with security, and possibly being barred from entering the studio, don't bring drugs or alcohol because your bag or purse is subject to a search.Weapons of any kind. There are backpacks. There are lists of prices. There are costumes or suggestive clothing.

Step 6: Arrive at the studio three hours before the doors open.

The norm is overbooking. The intersection of Beverly Boulevard and Fairfax Avenue is where CBS Television City is located. You can get into the audience if you get there early. The street and paid parking can be found a couple of blocks south of Beverly Boulevard. You should plan for the possibility of traffic jams so that you can get to the studio as early as possible.

Step 7: Wait in line and wait for the doors to open.

A production assistant will give everyone a registration card with their first and last names on it, as well as the day of the month they were born. You will be among the first to be interviewed by the producers if you arrive early.Since they are potential contestants, it's a good idea to get to know them.

Step 8: When you are interviewing a producer, answer the questions clearly.

After the studio lot doors open, the producers will interview everyone in line. You'll be asked where you're from and your occupation. You should answer the questions with humor. The initial determination of who will appear on the show is made in this seemingly casual interview.Speak up and enunciate your words.People in the line are likely to be talking or cheering. The producer should be able to hear every word you say.Don't talk. When the host asks a simple question, the producers are likely to think you would do that on-air.

Step 9: The producer's energy should be matched with the answer.

If you are first in line, watch the producers' body language and listen for their tone as they interview other contestants.Match their enthusiasm without exceeding it.The producers want the right amount of energy. If the producer speaks at a certain volume, match it.Don't be afraid to move your hands if they are talking.Don't try to match the way the producer is speaking. If you answered as if you received a contestant slot, the host would ask you a question.Keep in mind past contestants. They may come across as offensive if you mimic their mannerisms.

Step 10: Don't try to get favor with the producers.

Even if you think you have a good chance of being selected or winning, don't be arrogant or calculating. The key is authenticity.Sharing a sad story with the producers is not likely to move them. You will probably lose your shot if they think you will break down in tears.Producers are not allowed to accept a business card, so don't give them anything that could be seen as a bribe.

Step 11: When the show starts, cheer loudly and passionately.

After your interview, you will be taken into the studio audience to watch the show.Everyone is going to start cheering.Join in!The producers watch audience reactions as the show begins and make their final contestant decisions. Some people were cut at the last minute because they did not cheer during the interview portion. Before the show starts, make sure you show that you are happy to be there.

Step 12: Don't cheer too loud and obnoxiously.

Shouting "Woo!" and pumping your fists is not allowed. If they are picked as contestants, the producers want people who can show their excitement, but also compose themselves enough to participate.Cheer along with the rest of the crowd if you avoid the superfan shtick.During the show's opening, previous contestants cheered and mimicked them.

Step 13: Wait for the announcement to call the selected contestants.

Only 9 of the 300 people in the studio are chosen for the show.If you impress the producers and have good fortune smiling on you, you will be called down as a contestant.Thank you!You can win a new car or washing set.Enjoy the show even if you don't get selected. No matter what, it will be a great experience. You can try again at the next taping. You will not be able to appear on the show if you show up to every taping and change your appearance or personality.
