The shoes are Tie Kilt.

The kilt is a tradition in Scotland. There is a tartan wraparound that resembles a skirt, long socks, garters, a ceremonial knife, and some excellent shoes called ghillie brogues. The shoes have long, thin laces and are made of shiny leather.Wrap the laces around your ankle and twist them at the back. For a more traditional look, tie them in a bow at the side of your ankle or the front of it. Step 1: Pull the laces to tighten the shoes. The laces should be threaded through the holes in the shoe.At every pair of holes, the laces should cross over each other.Pull the laces tight, just as you would tie ordinary shoes. If you don't have special ghillie brogues, you can use ordinary dress shoes to make them. You should wear your ghillie brogues with long socks and a kilt. Step 2: In the front, twist the laces 3-6 times. The easiest way to do this is to hold one lace straight and wrap the other around it.Start twisting them above the shoe top. This will make a rope.If you want to have the bow closer to your shoe, you can either twist 3 times or 6 times.Whatever you want. Step 3: The laces should be on the back of your ankle. Wrap one lace around each side of your leg. They should be 3 inches above your ankle. They should be tight around your leg, but not so tight that they pinch. Step 4: Behind your leg, twist the laces. You can twist them between 2 and 4 times. You can hold one lace and wrap the other around it.The back of the leg should have fewer twists than the front. Step 5: A simple overhand knot can be made at the front or side of your leg. Wrap one lace around each side of your leg so that they meet at either the front or the outer side.Tie a simple overhand knot.Pass one lace around the other. If you want to tie your bow at the outer side of your ankle, tie it with your half-hitch.It is more traditional to tie your knot on the side of the leg, but you can also do it in the front if you like the way it looks. Step 6: If you want, tie your bow at the side of your leg. The more traditional place to tie the bow is here.Just like you were tying shoes, tie your bow at the side of the leg when you made your overhand knot.Make sure the loops of the bow are the same size. Step 7: If you want, tie a bow at the back of your leg. The bow at the front gives a nice symmetrical look and some people prefer it over the side bow.Just like when you tie regular shoes, tie a bow right where you did your overhand knot at the front. The bow should be above your ankle. The bow will slip down your ankle if you do it higher up than that.
