The Starbucks Midnight Mint Mocha Frappuccino is a new flavor.

I'm at it again.I am following Starbucks.I think I owned Starbucks in another life.Is that possible?

Don't get me wrong.I drink enough Starbucks throughout the year to qualify for free drinks, and I have the Starbucks app on my phone so I don't have to wait in line.I only drink one Starbucks a week.This isn't one of those places where everyone knows my name and everyone is happy I came.Would people not be happy that I went to Starbucks?The theme song from "Cheers" was a popular TV show back in the 80's.

Starbucks introduced their summer Frappuccino menu back in May.Starbucks introduced a new Frappuccino called the Midnight Mint Mocha.It's all about dark chocolate right now.Dark chocolate has anti-oxidants in it.

The Starbucks version of the Midnight Mint Mocha Frappuccino has not been proven to lower blood pressure, lower the risk of cardiovascular disease, or increase the power of dark chocolate.Only high quality organic stuff with at least 70% cocoa content can give you the power of such.I am not a Doctor, so I can't prescribe dark chocolate to cure your ills, though that would make me popular, right?I can only give you a recipe and a small amount of knowledge.

I was told that Starbucks uses dark cocoa powder.I researched the existence of dark cocoa powder.I learned that it is not a thing.There are different types of cocoa powder.If you use Dutch-process cocoa powder or natural Cocoa powder in this recipe, it won't change it at all.There is a breakdown of Dutch-process versus natural cocoa powder.

I added a few dark chocolate discs to make the drink even richer.I bought my dark chocolate discs from Whole Foods, but there are many other options on Amazon.It was very close to the Starbucks version, but my drink was a little more bitter than I would have liked.You should use a chocolate with a cocoa content of 70% or higher if you want to get the authentic taste.

The mint sugar is next.Mint sugar crystals are used in Starbucks Midnight Mint Mocha Frappuccino instead of using a mint sugar syrup.The mint sugar can be made in a food processor with fresh mint leaves.I used the mint sugar in iced tea and lemonade.

The way this Frappuccino is served is inconsistent among the Starbucks stores.In one store, the drink was topped with whipped cream, while in the other store it was not.You will be authentic if you choose either way.

The proper way to serve the Star ucks Midnight Mint Mocha Frappuccino varies from store to store.If you want to add a thin layer of whipping cream to the Frappuccino, fill only half the serving glass with it.Add more whipped cream and cocoa powder to the rest of the glass and serve it with the Frappuccino.
