It's easy to remove vertical blinds once you break it down step by step.The entire structure must be taken down before individual vanes can be removed.It is important to take down the blinds to avoid damage to the wall they are attached to.
Step 1: The top rail needs to be revealed.
The rail at the top of the blinds is covered in a decorative border.If you want to create a small gap between the clips holding the vanes and the valance, hold the bottom of it and push it upwards.Continue pushing until you can no longer see the clips.The vane carriers are held by clips.The clips will break if the valance is removed gently.
Step 2: Make the blinds partially open by rotating them.
If you want to remove the blinds quickly, you need to rotate the vanes.Pull the bead chain to open the blinds.The aim is to have the vanes open on an angle.
Step 3: The vane carrier is located at the top.
The vane carrier is attached to a set of vertical blinds.There is a carrier at the top of the vane.The side of the carrier that faces out has a hook-like shape to make it easier to open.
Step 4: The vane carrier has a plastic card between it.
Under the hook, place a sturdy card under the bottom of the vane carrier.The card should be moved between the vane and the carrier.You won't be able to break the thin plastic that runs along the top if the grip on the vane is disrupted.A credit card can be used to wedge between the vane and carrier.
Step 5: Take the vane out of the carrier.
Pull the vane downwards when the card is wedged between it and the carrier.Slowly, you should prevent damage to the vane.The card should be removed when the vane is clear of the carrier.The carriers should not be removed from the blind rail.Keep the vane in good shape by placing it in a clean spot.
Step 6: The blind rail has a bead chain on it.
The bead chain on the top of the blinds allows you to open and close them.Pull the chain out of the blind rail after removing the vanes.If you plan to keep the blinds, be careful not to break the chain while removing it.You can get a new bead chain at a window treatment store or online.
Step 7: The spring clips of the rail brackets can be loosened using a flat head screwdriver.

Step 8: The blind rail needs to be removed from the wall.
Once you release the springs, hold the blind rail firmly.Pull the rail away from the brackets.Make sure the springs have been released properly if the rail doesn't come down easily.
Step 9: If you aren't replacing the blinds, fill the holes with the brackets.
The small screws that attach the brackets to the wall can be removed with a screwdriver.To hide the holes, apply plaster or joint compound.Once the surface is dry, paint over it.If the screws are not tight, use a manual screwdriver.It is possible to remove wall anchors with needle-nose pliers.If you are replacing the blinds, make sure the new brackets are the same as the old ones and leave them there to save yourself time and trouble.
