There are options for blockingrobo calls.

I understand that any new technology may not be perfect, but I just need to see a reduction in the obnoxious calls that interrupt my daily activities and introduce me to scam artists.

They should be blocking these calls.I block calls myself using minimal tools. The number of phone numbers you can block is limited, and you have to know in advance which ones you want to block. The FTC has helped private companies introduce a range of technologies designed to reduce or eliminate these scam calls, but until the phone companies adopt these solutions, they won't be able to.

I don't think there is a valid reason to not implement a blocking solution. It might save the phone companies money in the long run because they don't have to upgrade their systems if the calls are eliminated.

Agree with you.Half the calls we get can't be blocked by 10 numbers. You can't tell from the list of numbers you've blocked which ones are recent or older.Unless you remember, you can't remove the old ones.

I would be willing to use a simple feature that would block all calls that are not on a safe list.If a call comes in that isn't on the safe list, a message would ask them to enter a code. They get disconnected if they can't repeat the code.

The NOMOROBO service is free if you have FiOS Digital Voice. It does a good job of blocking the calls. It is a free service and you can turn it off if you don't like it.I have been using NOMOROBO for 6 months and I am very happy with it.

It is a service and not a feature. There were stories on various news sites about it.

It's not affiliated with the company. How does it work? The catch is that it's free.

Just watched their video. They use a ring feature to identify the caller.Do you get a ring?I'm wondering if I am getting single rings instead of the robo call. It's better than having to pick up and hang up.The "free" service is possible because of a larger database of phone numbers that help the commercial customer business.I'll try it.
