There are two wires for the dimmer switch, one black and one red.

I need some help, I had to replace the dimmer switch in my bedroom, and after taking out all the wires, it was found that my switch is the main source for the 3 bedrooms.I have red wires and black wires.I believe one of the red wires powers the fan and light in my bedroom, and the other one powers a cupboard light.

I put all the red wires into the Com and it worked, but the switch was buzzing and I didn't know where they went.Is it a good idea to get a higher voltage switch?Any help with this would be great.!

People with no experience or common sense should not try to do electrical work. You should have taken one wire at a time and put it on the new switch in the same location as the old one.Make a drawing of where the wires went.If you have something wired wrong, it won't do you any good to get a higher voltage switch. They don't make higher voltage switches for your application. The switch is rated for 115 volts. They will not work in your situation. It's time to call the electrician and pay the price so he can fix your mistake.

Unless the dimmer is specifically designed for running fans, no fan should be on it.I think the dimmer is overloading. The first one failed because of that.
