There is a female school-age pony.She first appeared in the first part of friendship is magic.The Cutie Mark Crusaders are a club devoted to helping ponies earn their marks.She drives a scooter.She develops a sisterly bond with her in Sleepless in Ponyville.Lauren Faust stated that the two are not related.[6]

The Generation 3 Earth pony has a pink and purple mane and tail, sometimes with ponytails in the Core 7 serials.Her color scheme is based on Sparkleworks, another Generation 3 Earth pony.In Generation 3, Scootaloo is Cheerilee's younger sister, and in Generation 4 there is no indication of a family relationship.

Her mark in merchandise and promotional material is the same as her G3/G 3.5 counterpart's, and was chosen by layout artist Kat Stenson prior to her work on the show.[7]

Lauren Faust said that the idea of Scootaloo was to get in a lot of schoolyard fights over being picked on for not flying.[8]

She is similar to her idol, Rainbow Dash.She doesn't like having to listen to "sappy" and "namby-pamby" stories.Like the other Crusaders, she finds Big McIntosh and Cheerilee's romance charming.She is timid and self-conscious in Sleepless in Ponyville.

Although they aren't related, Scootaloo views Rainbow Dash as an older sister who looks up to her sisters Applejack and Rarity.

Rainbow Dash is called the "coolest pony in Ponyville" by Scootaloo in The Cutie Mark Chronicles.In Owl's Well That ends Well, Scootaloo volunteers to be the assistant to Rainbow Dash after hearing her praise Spike for his hard work.The apple core was thrown away to get Rainbow Dash's favor.The official Rainbow Dash Fan Club is chaired by Scootaloo.She is wearing a wig and trying to find a word to sum up Rainbow Dash's virtues.

In Sleepless in Ponyville, Scootaloo wants Rainbow Dash to take her under her wing as a little sister.They form a strong bond that allows them to enter the Sisterhooves Social together.Dash is proud of her accomplishment in Crusaders of the Lost Mark.

Dash's parents, Hot Bowhoof and Windy Whistles, idolize Rainbow just as much as she does in Parental Glideance.

In The Washouts, she resents Rainbow Dash because she tried to make her not like them.After seeing that Lightning Dust cared more about putting on a good show than the safety of others, Scootaloo came to her senses and made a deal with Rainbow.

The Cutie Mark Crusaders are a group of people who form a club to discover their talents.

On a few occasions, Scootaloo can be angry with Apple Bloom.They argue over how to call a chicken in Stare Master.During a school field trip, they get into a fight over the meaning of the worddiscord.

In Surf and or Turf, Scootaloo gets into a heated argument with Sweetie Belle over where Terramar should live, leading them to temporarily stop being friends.

When her parents tell her that they're going to have them all move far away from Ponyville, she's not happy.

She hasn't been able to fly.She falls out of a tree in Ponyville Confidential.She is able to use her wings for a variety of stunts on her scooter despite her limited flying skills.In The Show Stoppers, Scootaloo performs various skating tricks, such as jumping off a ramp over an awe-struck crowd, doing a 360 and a tailwhip, and passing her scooter underneath a branch while she jumps over it.She uses her wings to pull loaded wagons.A man is talking about Rainbow Dash in a book.For a longer period of time than in previous episodes, Scootaloo can hover slightly higher and show some improvement in her capabilities.

There is a running gag throughout the series that the other members of the Cutie Mark Crusaders tend to tease Scootaloo by referring to her as a type of flightless bird: a chicken in Stare Master and a dodo in The Return of Harmony Part 1.Scootaloo tends to react defensively.

The inability to fly is the focus of Flight to the Finish.She feels that her inability to fly makes her unqualified to represent the Pegasi of Ponyville in the flag-carrying ceremony at the games.She identifies her relatively small wings as the cause of her inability and expresses her fear that they will never grow and she will not be able to fly.Regardless of whether she'll fly or not, Rainbow Dash says that she is still special in her own way.Two of her friends are chosen to represent Ponyville as flag carriers after she inspired them to tow her scooter to the Crystal Empire.When Scootaloo discovers she is still dreaming, she flies around the club perfectly.In Do Princesses Dream of Magic Sheep?, she flies in a dream and gives herself giant wings.

Scootaloo travels to Cloudsdale through the use of her scooter, a giant slingshot, and a steep wooden ramp in Parental Glideance.

After briefly becoming a seapony in Surf and/or Turf, Scootaloo deeply enjoys swimming in the ocean, believing it is what flying must be like.

Despite being a full-grown pony, Scootaloo never tries to fly.She still uses her scooter for travel, but it is in danger of breaking.

One of Lauren Faust's security personnel stated in his conversations with Faust that Scootaloo was originally intended to be handicapped and would never be able to fly; he said Faust conceived a story that would have played out over three episodes throughout the first two seasons.Faust stated that there is "no reason" that Scootaloo can't fly.[2]

Scootaloo is trying to compose lyrics for a talent show when he plays the piano.She is a skilled dancer.She doesn't realize her talent for dancing and instead sings a "wicked rock ballad" in an off-key manner.She sings one line in The Perfect Stallion.She sings in One Bad Apple.During Babs Seed's initiation into the Cutie Mark Crusaders, she plays the drums.She sings Horses in Flight to the Finish.

When building the Crusaders' golden apple float, Scootaloo has a moderate talent for mechanical construction.In the movie, Scootaloo learns to ride a unicycle.She applies this skill when she reassembles Pipsqueak's scooter.

The family of Scootaloo is not mentioned in the series.Her parents are away most of the time and she lives with her aunt and uncle.

Their show debut is in The Last Crusade.

Faust did not have specific plans for what her family deal was, but the topic of it was never brought up.According to Faust's vision for the show, Scootaloo has parents but they both have demanding jobs and that she is good at evading her babysitter.There are no comments at this time.

In My Little Pony The Movie, Scootaloo is in a cage with the other Crusaders during the Storm King's takeover of Canterlot.

Her idol, Rainbow Dash, has the same need for speed.She zips around Ponyville on her scooter.She will always stop to help a friend.They are her best friends.The Cutie Mark Crusaders are made up of them.

One of the Cutie Mark Crusaders is a big fan of Rainbow Dash.It isn't ours to speculate on Scootaloo's future, but a life spent teaching and camaraderie seems likely.The Washouts had a foal-sized uniform to begin with.

She is determined to learn how to fly.Scootaloo has a special pony scooter that she uses to propel her wheeled contraption through the streets of Ponyville.A lot of people try to copy the "too cool" attitude and athletic skill of the adventurous Rainbow Dash.
