It Depends.Every college and University has a SOP in place for their admissions, but generally, 4 to 8 weeks is the norm in the US.Especially, if the University is in Top 25 Tier nationally, where they are receiving thousands of applications.
Questions for You: Did you make a COPY of the entire application, Before mailing it?Did you send it via Priority Mail, with a Confirmation Number?Did you follow-thru after 7 days to check that it was received?Did you apply to at least 5 to 10 other Universities? The Copy of the application is crucial, BUT, not for what the reasons you may be entertaining … The Copy is for “Proof reading” later, to see if you made “any mistakes”, that need to be Corrected immediately. If the Admission Office find’s mistakes … they may be TOO BUSY to Call you, so they throw it in a Pile … for returning later … by Snail Mail.If it’s been 30 days, and you are not the patient-type, then WHY haven’t you called to check on your application with the Admission Office?
Are you scared? They won’t or are never to tell any potential student of what the letter’s reply and results are, so you have nothing to fear.
I would say it depends on the school. If it’s a school that’s known to be competitive to get into i would imagine it takes longer for them to sort through applications. When I applied to university, I applied to 2 schools.
The school I attend now I applied for in mid-August of my senior year and asked my guidance counselor to send over my transcripts (if you haven’t mentioned anything to your counselor you should do that to make sure it’s done). After the school received my transcripts it took them 5 days to admit me.So from the time I applied to the time I was accepted was about 10 days.
I applied online and I believe my transcript was faxed. But as I mentioned you need to ask your guidance counselor to send your transcript if you haven’t.Many of them have too many students to just keep track of that kind of thing.
University do take 4 weeks time for the assessment.Seeing current scenario i will recommend you to apply in good numbers for the offer letter. As competition is very high.
