What does the error code F-01 mean on the front of my washer?
There is a failed electronic machine control board.A power surge through the electrical lines can cause this error code.You can clear the code by taking the washer out for 5 minutes.The electronic machine control board will need to be replaced if the code returns after plugging the washer back in.
The washer should be unplugged before accessing internal components.I recommend that you transfer the wires from the old control board to the new one at the same time.The old control board should be removed and the new one put in the washer.Do a test on the washer.
I own a HE2 and got F-01 on it.I did not have a blown solder joint when I took out the control board.I was thinking about what it could be.I had to disassemble the dryer to check the thermal fuse.The belt was broken when I did that.Did I have two problems, a malfunctioning primary electronic control and a broken belt, or just one problem, fooling the electronic controls into an F-01 error code?I called the store that sells appliance parts.There was a belt in stock.He said he had never heard of a broken belt causing an F-01 electronic control error.The dryer is 10 years old and the electronic control board is $150-$250.I decided to give it a try.And it worked out!The dryer seems to be working again.There was no problem with the electronic control board.
