The difference between the the is that the XR is more powerfull than the regular 20V. The batteies are are made to fit both the 20V max and the 20 XR. The only difference in batteries is the amount of Amps. The 3.0 Amps just lasts longer, but for the rest they can be both used for the Dewalt.
