What happened to Almira Gulch in " The Wizard of Oz"?

This is a costume for a young child. It could be enlarged for any size.Draw out and enlarge the pattern pieces. If you want to make a jacket similar to the one shown, cut out two sets of pattern pieces and use one set for the lining.Pin it to your figure by sewing all the pieces together. The same thing should be done for the lining fabric. You want the lining to match the jacket. After the jacket pieces and lining pieces are assembled, sew them right sides of the fabric together. You can add on the sleeves when you turn the jacket right side out.It is possible to make a full sleeve with a bit of a poof at the shoulder. There is a cap over the top of the jacket. The front of the jacket was closed with elastic loops and buttons.Button holes and buttons would work well.If you want the jacket to fit as your child grows, sew loops up the side seams and use ribbon or cord for a corsetted back.I sewed a 2 in wide piece of elastic for the waistband of the wide straight skirt that I gathered at the top.You can pair the jacket with a ruffled top and vest as shown for a victorian/ steampunk flare, the bottom of the skirt has 3 inch long pleats.I bought a felt hat that I cut down to fit a toddler for the Gulch costume.I put the smaller hat pieces back together and painted the rose black.

The entire outfit was made in the same fabric and colour.I loved the pattern and plan on making more outfits with it.
