What happened to the lead singer of Of Mice and Men?

An American rock band formed in Costa Mesa, California in 2009.The band has a drummer, guitarists, bassist, and vocalist.Austin Carlile, the former lead vocalist of Attack Attack!, and former bassist Jaxin Hall founded the group in 2009.Carlile left the band in December 2016 due to a long-term health condition.After Carlile's departure, the band continued to create music with Pauley as the lead vocalist and bassist.

The band has released six studio albums since 2009.The music of Of Mice & Men has been described as metalcore and post-hardcore.While retaining their original sound, their later material has been considered to be more melodic and shifted over to genres such as nu metal, alternative metal and hard rock.

The band has played at many international music festivals.

Austin Carlile, the original vocalist of Attack Attack!, and bassist Jaxin Hall, an import from New Zealand, founded Of Mice & Men.Carlile and Hall searched for other members.According to Carlile, the drummer of Lower Definition and Jon Kintz of Odd Project were on his desktop.Carlile was amazed when Arteaga was interested in playing drums for the band.The line-up was set after the trio added Phil Manansala.Carlile and Hall moved to Southern California.Shayley Bourget replaced Kintz in the band.With a question about the departure of Kintz in a Q&A for the group, Bourget jokingly stated, "Jon didn't cut it."According to Kintz, the band felt he was partying too much.The band uploaded a cover of Lady Gaga's song "Poker Face" after reaching a million plays on their profile.The song was mastered by Tom Denney, formerly of A Day to Remember, and a copy of the demo was sent to Rise Records.The band was signed to the label because they were Carlile's new musical project.On July 14, 2009, the group traveled to the Foundation Studios in Connersville, Indiana to record their self-titled debut album.[13]

On December 6, 2009, they had two video shoots in Ventura, California.On March 9, 2010, the band released their debut album.The album was delayed because the original release date was February 23.Fans who hacked into the system leaked the album a month before the official release.The music video for "Second & Sebring" was released on Hot Topic's website and aired on Headbangers Ball on March 15, 2010.[16]

The band was a part of the "Squash the Beef Tour".The "Atticus Tour" was supported by Of Mice & Men and other bands.The band supported I See Stars on the "Leave It to the Suits Tour" with We Came as Romans, Broadway, and Covendetta.[19]

Jerry Roush joined Of Mice & Men after being a part of Sky Eats Airplane.Roush was a substitute for Austin Carlile on the Emptiness Tour in 2010 which featured the band along with A Skylit Drive, the Word Alive, and We Came as Romans.Carlile was forced to not tour by his doctor because he needed a heart surgery in the near future.Carlile had a conflict with the other members.The band and Carlile decided to part ways.Roush was invited to front Of Mice & Men.The band was featured on the cover of the 19th issue of Substream Music Press.[23]

Attack Attack was supported by Of Mice & Men.In Fear and Faith is on the "This Is A Family Tour".[ 24]

The band lost its bassist on August 23, 2010 after months after Roush joined.Hall explained that the reasons for this decision were to concentrate more on his personal life, as well as his clothing brand, Love Before Glory.After Hall's departure, the former band for Phil, A Static Lullaby, had a new bassist in the form of Dane Poppin.The band covered the R&B song "Blame It" by Jamie Foxx with Poppin on bass and Roush's vocals on the album.The band was on the Warped Tour.After the conclusion of Warped Tour, Of Mice & Men toured the UK in support of August Burns Red and Blessthefall.[29]

The group confirmed on January 3, 2011, that they reached a decision to have Jerry Roush leave Of Mice & Men in favor for Austin Carlile to return to the group.Roush responded to his firing from the band on his account.Carlile was going to start a new musical project with Alan Ashby until he asked to rejoin the group.Of Mice & Men accepted both Carlile and Ashby as new members.The group underwent a slight arrangement, as they required a bassist after several substitution.Shayley Bourget was moved from rhythm guitar to bass guitar in order to keep his clean vocals.Alan was a rhythm guitarist.30

The refreshed band started recording their second album in January 2011.After the album's completion, the band headline the annual "Artery Across the Nation Tour" with support from Woe, Is Me, Sleeping with Sirens, and I Set My Friends on Fire.[33]

The band toured Europe and Australia in support of their work.Asking Alexandria and While She Sleeps were supported on a four-day UK tour.[35]

"Still YDG'N" was released by Of Mice & Men on May 13, 2011.They released a second song on May 24."Purified" has been added to the Warped Tour compilation.The Flood was released in June 2011.

The Warped Tour was a part of Of Mice & Men.They were joined by a former bassist on some California dates.We Came as Romans was supported on the "I'm Alive Tour" by Of Mice & Men and Miss May I, Texas.The group headline the "Monster Energy Outbreak Tour" with Iwrestledabearonce, Abandon All Ships, and That's Outrageous!.The first half of the tour included For the Fallen Dreams.I See Stars and That's Outrageous were both written by Christopher Stewart.After the departure of Shayley Bourget midway through the tour, filled in on clean vocals.

The group announced in 2012 that they were returning to the studio to work on their third release.The announcement of Shayley Bourget's departure from the band was made public on February 9.Shayley had released a video statement on the reasons he had to leave the band.He suffered from depression and alcoholism, along with other personal problems, and felt that he was bringing the other band members down.Shayley will not be rejoining the band.Shayley is the lead vocalist for Dayshell.

Austin Carlile will be taking over all vocals for Of Mice & Men's third studio album.[42]

On March 25, the drummer/vocalist of Confide announced that he would be filling in on bass for the next run of shows.[42]

On July 24, 2012 a new version of The Flood was released.There are four brand new tracks on the discs.

Jamie's Elsewhere substituted on bass guitar and clean vocals for the Vans Warped Tour.Pauley stated that he was no longer a member of Jamie's Elsewhere, but he did not leave on bad terms.

"We are currently home from tour for the remainder of 2012 and are now back in our studio working on our brand new album!" the band said on December 4, 2012.The band entered the studio in June to begin pre-production on the album.On October 1, it was announced that the band had finished recording their new album, having spent the summer in New Jersey recording the album with David Bendeth.Alternative Press released the first studio video and announced the completion of the band's third album.[46]

A big announcement will be made on the following day.Restoring Force, the band's third studio album, will be released on January 24, 2014, in North America.They announced dates for a UK tour in April with Issues and Beartooth.[49]

The first single from Restoring Force was released by the band on December 2."You're Not Alone" is the band's first release with a new vocalist and bassist.The next song from the new album was released on December 23.After the album was released, the band toured as a support act for British metalcore band Bring Me the Horizon, along with metal band Issues, on the "American Dream Tour" throughout America, starting early February and finishing in late March.Issues and Beartooth supported the band in the UK after the tour finished.[52]

The third single of the album "Would You Still Be There" has a music video.The band supported A Day to Remember in Latin America from May to June.The band will be the main support for Linkin Park on their European tour in November.[56]

On October 8, the band posted photos of them in the studio.The band released a music video on October 23.[58]

Restoring Force: Full Circle, which will include three new tracks and an acoustic version of "feels like forever", will be released on February 24, 2015, and was announced on December 16.[59]

The band released a music video for "Broken Generation" on February 5, 2015.The single was available to listen to on the following day.On May 27, 2016 the band released their first live album.61

The band's fourth studio album, Cold World, was released on September 9, 2016 through Rise Records.On the same day, they released the album's lead single, "Pain".The second single of the album, "Real," was released on August 4.The third and final single of the album was released on August 30.[65]

Austin Carlile left the band on December 30 to focus on healing and getting better while moving to Costa Rica with only two of its founding members remaining.Carlile left the band because he wasn't allowed to write what he wanted on the next record.He said "No I will no longer be writing with them, one of the reasons I left."They wouldn't allow me to write what I wanted on the next record.That's not going to happen.Despite what that means, I will write what I want.[70]

The band performed at the Las Rageous Festival without Carlile."Unbreakable" and "back to me" were released on May 22.Their first singles were with Pauley as lead vocalist.[2]

The first track after Carlile's departure was the subject of a short documentary.The struggles and triumphs of the band were addressed in the documentary.The band's tour schedule in early 2017.This 'Unbreakable' film shows Of Mice & Men on their latest festival performances across multiple continents performing their songs in front of an audience.There are 73 and 74 words.

On November 10, 2017, the band released the third single with Pauley on vocals.Along with the release of "Warzone", the band announced their first complete record with Pauley as lead vocalist.The band released the title track on November 27th.The fifth single was a cover of Pink Floyd's "Money".On January 19 Defy was released all over the world.[78]

The band is working on a new album with a producer.According to Pauley, the new record will be heavier than Defy.On February 14, the band released a new song called "How to Survive" which sounded heavier than tracks from their previous album.The band released a new song and music video on May 3.On June 26, DJ and producer Kayzo along with other artist Yultron released a collaboration track with the band titled "Night Terror".[83]

The band announced their new album on July 26.The title track and video were released.On September 5, the band released the fourth single of the album titled "Taste of Regret" along with a music video.[84]

The band signed with SharpTone Records after they parted ways with Rise Records.At the same time, they released a new single "Obsolete" and announced that their debut album would be released on February 26, 2021.Pauley announced on January 18 that this would be the first of three releases.The title track "Timeless" was released two weeks before the release of the EP.The band announced on April 21 that they will be releasing their second piece of music on May 28, 2021.On the same day, they released a new single and title track.[89]

It has been described as metalcore, nu metal, and post-hardcore.The band's debut self-titled album has been considered a typical metalcore album comparable with the work of the Devil Wears Prada, We Came as Romans, and Attack Attack!Their second album, The Flood, was described as atypical to modern metalcore and more melodic than their earlier work.Their third album, Restoring Force, incorporated a lot more nu metal elements into their sound, according to a Rock Sound review.They embraced the nu metal sound heard from Restoring Force with their fourth album, Cold World.The band's fifth album, Defy, was the first without founding vocalist Austin Carlile.The album marked the return to their heavy sound, but still kept elements from their fourth album.[108]

There is a contrast between the harsh vocals and standard singing of the band's style.Currently, Pauley performs both techniques.

Rage Against the Machine, Slipknot, and Linkin Park are some of the bands that have influenced Mice & Men.[109]

The well laid plans of mice and men often don't work out.They get screwed up when you make plans.Both of us got screwed up, so now we're making the most of what we can.

When Austin and I were thinking about forming the band, we wanted this to be our American Dream because I'm not from America.I looked at past relationships and found that everyone had the best intentions, but they didn't work out the way we wanted them to.[115]
