What is a fuel heater?

A form of a fuel-air heat exchanger in which heat is taken from the compressor bleed air and put into the fuel before it flows through the fuel filter. This is to ensure that water in the fuel does not freeze and restrict the fuel flow, leading to a flameout. See also fuel-air heat exchanger.
