While prep schools cater for boarders between 7-13 years, some preparatory schools have a pre-prep department that takes younger day pupils. Students are usually age five or above, but can even be as young as two.
Can a 7 year old go to boarding school?
Most boarding schools only offer day school for younger children and don't allow boarding until 6th, 7th, 8th, or 9th grade depending on the school. So, do your research if you are looking at non-local schools because they may be day-schools only and you won't be able to get there every day to pickup your child.
