What to feed a baby barn owl

What do I feed it?I know that it should be eating mice or something, so please let me know where I can find it.!

I just found this website, I don't know what it is.This is the tree it fell out of.The parents are barn owls.

You should not be feeding it.If the bird is fully feathered, it is most likely a young bird that has left the nest on its own and is being cared for by its parents.Birds leave the nest before they can fly.Parents should come back to feed it if you replace it in a scrub or tree because it is relatively safe from predators. If it is unfeathered, replace it with a nest if you can find it.Birds have a poor sense of smell and will not reject a baby that has been touched, so don't worry about your scent being on the chick. If you can't find a nest, get the bird to a wildlife rehabilitation center. It is illegal to try and raise this bird on your own.Birds in the U.S. are protected by the act.Look for a rehabilitation center here.

I agree with bird girl, if it is introduced to humans and humans are feeding it then it will not be able to fend for itself and you can not keep it for ever because they poo and pee all over.

Birdgirl said it is illegal in the U.S.A to keep or interact with native birds.

Birdgirl has good web sights, so if you go to them, you will get some help.

Birds usually eat rodents, small mammals, and/or insects. Some species like fish.

Owl ownership laws vary from country to country. It is illegal to own a native Owl in the USA and Australia. There are exceptions to this, for people in the USA that have a Rehabilitation or Falconry License.

If you want to killHAMBURGER, go to a big pet store.Tell them you need frozen mice. They are on hand for snake feedings at most pet stores. If you want the mice to be warm, you have to rip them in small pieces and not chop them.Large beetles. It can be used with a rabbit. They need to eat bones, hair and skin for a complete diet. They don't eat chickens as that would be bad news for them, but hamburger and any other meat are from animals they do not eat. This bird is not a pet and you need to get it to a center as quickly as possible. They don't do well in captivity.I know what I'm talking about, I raised Raptors for a center for years.

Screech and Sparrow Owls are Tree Cavity nesters. Please check them out.

Most of the owls nest in large buildings and rafters. They nest in caves and mine shafts.
