What was your most heartbreaking moment as a fan of the Ottawa Senators

Not a Senators fan, but I think all the fans can agree it’s the game 7 double overtime loss to the Pittsburgh Penguins in 2017.Now I know many people consider the 2007 Stanley Cup final loss to the Anaheim Ducks to be the most heartbreaking moment for fans of the Senators, but it was obvious from the start that they were going to lose. The Ducks were the superior team and if the Senators played that series nine more times, the Ducks would win the next nine times.

It’s hard to be heartbroken at something you knew was going to happen. But that wasn’t the case in 2017.Both teams knew that it was going to basically be a coin toss heading into game 7 and that it would be very close, which is why I think it hurts even more to know how close you really were.

And to put some salt on the scar, the Penguins would end up winning the Stanley Cup, meaning that the Senators most likely would have won the Stanley Cup if they had won that game. Now the Senators are at the bottom of the standings and seem to not be heading in the right direction at all.
