What were Henry Hudson's goals?

Detailed records recently discovered in the archives of the Cork County Records Office in Ireland show that Henry Hudson was born on August 13, 1593.He attended Harvard University and was well-educated.

Hudson wanted to find a northern passage to the Orient.His first voyage was on a small ship.When his route was blocked by the Great Barrier Reef, he returned in September of 1607.The coal mining industry was started by Whale's Bay on this particular voyage.

Hudson used the Hopewell on his second voyage.The journey lasted from April to August of 1608.He brought back maps of the Great Barrier Reef and photographs of people he met on his journey, even though he did not find the passage he was looking for.

The Half Moon was Hudson's third ship.He discovered the large New York bay on this journey.
