Each Penn State campus has its own housing options. While first-year students at University Park and students not local to Penn State Behrend have to live on campus, the other campuses that offer on-campus housing do so on a first-come, first-served basis.

Can you switch dorms in college?
Not at all. Your room agreement/contract is for the year. Assuming all things go as we hope, you get along with your roommate and you succeed as a student, there is no reason for you to change rooms. If, however, you can't resolve differences with your roommate, you might request to move to a different room or hall.

The dorms at Penn State aren't horrible, but they aren't great either. Most of them are old and just worn down. There is a decent amount of storage space, just not a lot of closet space. Sharing a space with another person is hard, because these rooms don't have a lot of extra room.
