Why did Bitty Schram leave the monastery?
Monk pulls himself out of the situation with the help of his nurse, Sharona Fleming, played by Bitty Schram.He develops his private detective business and is often called upon by the San Francisco homicide unit to assist with investigations.Sharona takes on the role of a nurse/assistant as she accompanies Monk on all of his investigations and helps him to manage his tics.
Even though Monk depends on her, her character is written out of the show in the middle of season 3.Fleming decided to move back to New Jersey so that she could reconcile with her ex- husband.
After the breakdown of contract negotiations, relations were not as icy as they could have been due to the return of Mr Monk and Sharona.
Monk was nominated for a Golden Globe for her performance and received 8 awards.
