Using a VPN can slow down your Wi-Fi, which could be a problem on top of already slow cruise ship connections. Plus, some cruise line Internet packages don't allow VPN use. Also, many VPN services require monthly subscriptions; you can't just buy one for the length of your weeklong cruise.
