Windshield washer fluid not coming out, it stopped working.

In 1990 to present Legacy, Impreza, Outback, and Baja.

Greetings from Alaska!I thought I'd say hello and ask a question after finding this forum. The washer fluid part of the window washing system is no longer working. There is no fluid on the window either front or rear.Anyone has a suggestion?Since the remote start doesn't interface, the alarm had to be disabled. The remote has been installed for three years and I don't think it has anything to do with the problem. Thanks for the ideas.

The first thing I would do is check the fuses under the hood and dash.If that doesn't work, have someone listen for the motor and stick their head under the hood. You can go from there if this fails and you hotwire the pump to make sure it works. If both pumps work, and the fuses are good, I would focus on the steering column.

There are some ideas on how to find your problem. The washers work on the fuse in your owner's manual. Is it gone?I think I remember that my 97 had two of them, one for the front and the tailgate washer, and I need to clean them. All of them are likely to be corroded. If they work, use a spray electrical contact cleaner and a small wire brush.Run test wires from your battery to each motor to see if they spin. They may have been seized up.I have taken apart one of them in the past and cleaned it up, but it took me a long time to get it going again. If this is your problem, you can either buy new ones or check the junk yards for something better.A lot of Japanese car makers use the same suppliers. It has to be either a bad switch or somewhere in your wiring from the switch to the washers.Maybe they can jump in with anything I missed.Good luck!

I had a similar problem with my dog.I checked the hoses from the tank to the jets to make sure they weren't disconnected. Not the problem. The electrical connection to the tank had come undone.I was in business again after putting it back in.Thank you for joining the board. You might want to check out PM Snowman.

There was a place where you could hear the motor running, but when I pulled off the hose to the nozzles, nothing came out.I took the motor and soap out of the pickup. The owner looked over my shoulder and said he really liked his car.

Thanks for the quick replies. When my wife gets home with the car, I'll check out some of the suggestions. These forums are great for people who don't know a lot about fixing, but still want to pay for a simple fix.

If you get stuck, give a ring and Snowman will come by and lend a hand.I have the weekend off and Kelly will be out of town until Sunday.
