You can catch a diving beetle in Animal Crossing.
If you're having trouble catching the diving beetle on Animal Crossing: New Leaf, here is what to do.
Step 1: Look for it.
If you see a diving beetle in one of your ponds, it is not a fish.
Step 2: Notice what it is doing.
Occasionally, it should dive down.When it dives down, it will look like a blue coin.
Step 3: Observe the actions of it.
When you run past it quickly or put a fishing rod in the water, it won't scare you.
Step 4: Take out your net from your pockets.
Step 5: When the diving beetle dives into a little blue coin, press A to swing your net down on it.
Step 6: You should catch it.
Step 7: If you don't catch it, try again.
If you fail, you can just wait until the diving beetle dives down and tries again.
