There are many ways to make a paper dog, and all of them require very little materials.A fun miniature dog that can stand on its own legs out of paper or a folded dog face can be created.You could make paper dog puppets.
Step 1: Pick a piece of paper for your dog.
You can choose between a 3 by 3 in, 6 by 6 in or 10 by 10 in piece of paper.The bigger the paper, the bigger your dog will be.Brown, tan, or white are common dog colors, but don't hesitate to choose something more unconventional for your creation.If you don't have origami paper, use something else that is thin and easy to fold, like newspaper, magazine pages, or even wrapping paper.If you want a perfectly square piece of paper, cut the substitute into the correct dimensions.
Step 2: A triangle can be created by folding the square of paper in half.
To form a triangle, take the top- left corner and fold it across to meet the bottom-right corner.To create a crease, run your finger along the fold.To make your crease lines more defined, use the back of your nail or the body of a pen.
Step 3: You can open the square back up and fold it in half.
If you unfold the paper, it will be a square again.Another triangle can be made by folding the top-right corner across to the bottom- left corner.Make another crease by pressing down along the fold line.Straight, defined creases are important in origami.Once you have finished, your creation will stand upright.
Step 4: Place the square in front of you.
Put the piece of paper in front of you.The bottom of the square should be parallel to your body.The unfolded piece of paper should have an X on it.
Step 5: Bring the bottom- left corner to the center of the square.
Take the bottom left corner and place it in the center of the square, where the 2 creases intersect to create an "X".Make a crease by pressing the fold down.The folded pieces of paper should be kept in place while you work on other sections.You might lose your place in the project if things come undone.
Step 6: The corners should be brought to the center.
Take each corner one at a time and fold them so that their points are in the center of the square.Pull the crease down for each corner.This step will turn the original square into a smaller square.The sides should be the same.The left, top, right, and bottom sides will now meet in the middle of the square.
Step 7: You can open the left flap and fold it in half.
Unfold the right-hand side of the paper.If you want the tip of the point to meet the intersection of your previous fold line, fold it in half.The left flap should be folded back into place.When you look at your square, there should be an open triangle.
Step 8: If you want to overlap the edge line, take the tip of the right flap and fold it back.
The flap should be folded to the center point.Take the tip of the corner that is in the center and fold it back.Make your crease so that the top forms a triangle that overhangs the outer edge of the square.Don't do anything to the flaps at this point, leave the top and bottom flaps in place.The dog's tail will eventually become this fold.
Step 9: The entire square should be folded in half.
Pick up the piece of paper.To create the left and right sides of your dog, fold it in half.When the fold is done, place the paper in front of you so that the tail points to the right.When lining up the center fold, take your time.Your dog will be wobbly if the lines are not straight.
Step 10: You can crease the flap from the top- left to the bottom-right corner.
If you want the paper to point toward your body, unfold it from the top section of the dog.After folding the entire section of paper, you can create a diagonal fold that starts at the top- left corner and ends in the bottom-right corner.The dog's head and legs are being made at this point.
Step 11: The right edge should be folded along the crease line.
Take the point of the piece of paper you just folded up, and bring it back down along the original crease line.If you were to stand it up, the bottom edge should be in line with the ground.
Step 12: On the other side, repeat the 2 previous steps.
The piece of paper needs to be flipped over.Make a diagonal fold from the top-right corner to the bottom- left corner by unfolding the flap of paper.The other leg can be formed by folding the paper back down along the original crease line.Make your folds as straight and defined as you can even though you are nearing the end.
Step 13: Pull out the folds in the dog's nose.
You should see the dog's tail, body, triangle legs, and triangle head when you look at the piece of paper.Pull out the fold under the dog's nose.This makes the dog's mouth look realistic.The dog's face is created by the crease line.
Step 14: To complete it, draw a nose and eyes on the dog.
Take a marker and put an eye on each side of the dog.The nose should be filled in around the tip of the head.It is possible to draw a smile or any other adornments you feel are appropriate.You can make a dog in a few minutes if you get the hang of the pattern.
Step 15: Pick a piece of paper for your project.
You don't need to cut the paper because it's in squares.The larger the piece of paper, the bigger the dog head will be.Whether it's brown, black, white, tan, or an unconventional color like blue or green, choose a color for your dog.Cut a thin sheet of paper into a square if you don't have origami paper.
Step 16: To make a triangle, fold the top- left corner to the bottom-right corner.
The sides should be matched up on the 2 corners.To create a crease, press the fold down firmly.Push the fold down with the back of your nail or the body of a pen to help crease the paper.The stronger the crease, the more definition your dog head will have.
Step 17: To make a small triangle, bring the 2 bottom corners together.
Don't put your first fold in place.A smaller triangle can be formed by folding the bottom points together.Line up the edges of your folds with care.
Step 18: If you want the tip to point at your body, unfold the triangle once.
The large triangle is left if you undone the last fold.The top of the triangle is pointing at you.The center crease will be used as a guide for future folds.
Step 19: The diagonal fold starts at the center crease on the right-hand side.
A bigger fold is needed for bigger dog ears.The crease should start at the center line and then be folded down at a diagonal angle.To create a proportional face, keep the fold lined up with the center crease.
Step 20: On the other side, repeat the previous step.
Try to get the same angle for your dog's ears.The diagonal fold should start at the center-crease line.You should see a dog head when you look at the paper.
Step 21: Straight lines can be created by folding back the bottom and top points.
There is a flat line connecting the 2 ears if the top tip of the dog's head is folded back.The jaw line for the dog can be created by folding the bottom tip back.Attach the points to the back of the dog's head with a little bit of glue or double-sided tape.
Step 22: You can finish your project by drawing the rest of the dog's features.
You can draw eyes, a nose, and a mouth with a black marker.For basic features, make circles for eyes and an upside-down triangle for the nose.Attach a backwards "J" to the tip of the dog's nose for the mouth.You can design the dog's face as you please.You can give it a tongue, whiskers, or spots on the ears.
Step 23: A piece of paper can be folded into 3 equal sections.
A piece of construction paper or computer paper can be used.This piece of paper will be the dog's head, so use whatever color you want for it.White works well, but brown, black, or even an unconventional color, like red, would be fine.Don't use thin paper for this craft.It needs to be a little thicker to hold up because you will be sticking your hands into the folds.
Step 24: Attach the fold down with your glue stick.
Attach some glue to the back of the last fold.Put it down so it sticks to the other side.Glue sticks don't take long to dry.Double-sided tape can be used if you don't have a glue stick.
Step 25: The "seam" is on the outside of the paper.
Make a crease in the middle of the paper by bringing the short ends together.Make sure the side you glue is facing up by folding the paper.It is okay if you fold it the wrong way.You can unfold it and reverse it.
Step 26: The open edge should be folded over to the bottom crease on each side.
To make a crease on each side of the paper, fold the top edge back so it is in line with the bottom.The top and bottom sections are where you will place your fingers to make the puppet talk.
Step 27: Attach the dog's ears and tongue with glue.
Cut out shapes for the ears and tongue with different colors of construction paper.Attach them to the paper with a glue stick.Put the tongue in the mouth and glue the ears on the paper side by side.If you used white paper for the dog's head, use red and black for his tongue and ears.
Step 28: To complete your puppet, draw on the eyes and nose.
Draw circles for eyes and an upside down triangle for the nose with a black marker.You could put small dots on either side of the nose to make whiskers.Enjoy the decoration process and use your imagination.If you want to use the hand puppet, put your thumb in the bottom flap and your fingers on the top flap.The dog's mouth will open when you open and close your hand.
