A wreath is a great way to make your home look festive.An Easter egg wreath is a better choice if you want to make an Easter wreath.Some designs are simple enough for children to make, and you won't have to worry about using silk flowers.Making your own wreath will give you complete control over the final look.
Step 1: Get a pack of plastic Easter eggs.
There are a lot of plastic Easter eggs.Some of them are connected by a small hinge like a box lid, while others are completely apart.The type that is connected by a hinge is similar to a box lid.To open the eggs, squeeze the seams.You have to have enough eggs to make a ring.The plan is to use 12 to 15 eggs.
Step 2: Attach the top of your first egg to the bottom of the second egg.
The eggs have a skinny top half and a fat bottom half, just like real eggs.Take the top half from your first egg and put it on the bottom half of your second egg.The half-shells need to lay straight.Eggs should be touching the flat surface if they are to be placed on a table.
Step 3: Continue to connect the eggs until you get the length you want.
Pick up another egg and snap the wider bottom shell onto the narrower top shell.Continue connecting eggs until you can curve them into a ring.The amount of eggs you use depends on the size of the wreath.The wreath will be bigger if you use more eggs.Before connecting the shells, coat the seams with super glue.
Step 4: To complete the ring, snap together the first and last eggs.
Once your row of eggs is the length you want it to be, snap the top shell from the last egg onto the bottom shell.
Step 5: To make a hanging loop, thread a ribbon through the wreath.
There is a piece of ribbon.Go through the middle of the wreath and tie the ends together to make a hanging loop.If you want to make a fancy wreath, tie another ribbon around the bottom of the wreath.This wreath can be hung anywhere you want.It is waterproof.
Step 6: The inside of a paper plate can be cut to make a ring.
You need to poke a hole in the middle of the paper plate.Cut the hole with scissors.To create a ring, cut around the inside edge of the rim.Don't throw the rest of the ring away.You can cut a ring out of a piece of paper.The paper plate can be anything you want it to be.Depending on the placement of the eggs, the wreath will be about 10 to 20 cm bigger than the plate.
Step 7: Pick 2 to 3 colors or patterns of the paper.
It is possible to use patterned scrapbooking paper, which is thinner.Spring or Easter-themed patterns include stripes, polka dots, and flowers.You can choose between pastels or bright colors.Don't use colors that are too dark.There are patterns you can see on an Easter egg.
Step 8: Eggs can be traced onto patterned paper with an egg-shaped cookie cutter.
You can get 2 to 3 sheets of paper in different colors.You can draw tall egg shapes by hand or use a cookie cutter as a stencil.You need enough eggs to cover the ring to trace how many eggs you trace.You can erase the marks with a pencil.Draw on the back of the patterned paper.
Step 9: Cut the eggs with scissors.
If you want to use a craft blade, make your cuts small and be sure to work on a cutting mat.Take a moment to remove the pencil marks.
Step 10: Glue the eggs together.
The ring should be facing into the bottom of the eggs.The smaller ends of the eggs should be facing away from the ring.You can't see the ring anymore if you overlap the eggs onto it.The eggs can be moved closer to the middle of the ring to make a smaller wreath.tacky glue can be used as well as a glue stick.
Step 11: If you want, you can decorate the wreath with ribbons and glitter.
Attach a piece of ribbon to a bow.Attach it to your wreath with tacky glue, hot glue or a glue dot.Draw designs with glitter glue.If you don't have glitter glue, use regular glue.The eggs can be embellished with buttons, rhinestones, or sequins.There are metallic pens and markers.
Step 12: You can hang the wreath with a loop of ribbon.
You can see the back of the wreath if you flip it over.Bring the ends of the ribbon together to form a loop.Attach the ends to the wreath with hot glue, tacky glue or a glue dot.
Step 13: The ribbon loop can be used to hang the wreath.
The design part is facing you if you flip the wreath back over.If you want to hang the wreath from a hook, nail, or doorknob, you have to slip the ribbon loop over it.The paper will get ruined if this wreath is not hung outside.
Step 14: Use a wreath as your base.
A grapevine wreath is the best for a rustic or natural wreath.A Styrofoam wreath is better for covering the entire wreath with Easter eggs.The final wreath should be a little smaller than what you want it to be.Adding items on top will make it look bigger.
Step 15: To create a natural look, hot glue moss to a grapevine wreath.
Hot glue tufts to the front of the wreath after purchasing a bag of moss from the craft store.The visible grapevine will give it some texture if the back and sides of the wreath are left bare.You can cover the wreath with grass.This will make it look like an Easter basket.If you are using a Styrofoam wreath, you can hide the foam by covering it with a ribbon.Attach the ends of the ribbon with hot glue.
Step 16: Attach Easter eggs to the wreath.
You can get really creative here.If you go to a craft store, you'll find all sorts of plastic Easter eggs, from the traditional brightly colored ones to ones that are speckled to look like real bird eggs.You can glue as many eggs as you want.If you covered your wreath with moss, leave some moss between the eggs for a more natural look.Don't add anything to the sides.Eggs should be used to cover the entire wreath, including the sides.There are different egg sizes to play with.They should point in the same direction or in different directions.You have to empty and clean real eggs before you can use them.
Step 17: If you want, fill the gaps between the eggs with flowers.
If you left some space between your eggs, you might want to fill them with silk flowers.If you use moss on a grapevine wreath, this will look great.Small flowers, such as lavender or baby's breath, will look nice.You can use greenery, such as leaves or ferns.
Step 18: Make a bow.
The bow should be secured with a piece of floral wire.You can pull it off and reuse it.You can hot glue the bow to the wreath.Most people like to place their bow at the top or bottom of the wreath, but you can place yours at an angle for a unique look.Seal the ends of the ribbon with a flame to prevent them from unraveling.
Step 19: If you want, add a ribbon hanging loop.
The easiest way to hang a wreath is to place the wreath over the door and hang it from the large hook.If you don't want to use one of those, thread a piece of ribbon through the middle of your wreath, then tie the ends together to make a loop.If you made your wreath from Styrofoam and plastic eggs, you can hang it outside, but other materials may not be waterproof and should be hung indoors.
