A ceiling rose beneath a light fixture can turn a flat ceiling into a focal point.Ceiling roses can be installed at home or by a professional.It can last for decades in your home if you take the time to secure it.
Step 1: If you want to hang a light from the ceiling, you need to call an electrician.
Step 2: Purchase a light fitting.
Use an electric drill and bit to drill a hole in the rose.The electrician can tell you how big the hole is.
Step 3: The rose will be on the ceiling.
Use a hand sander.The sanding process will cause the ceiling to adhere more fully to the surface.Wear a mask when sanding.
Step 4: The tack cloth can be used to wipe the surface.
Put your ladder up.The person holding the ceiling rose should outline the area with a pencil.The glue can be applied if you remove the rose.The person holding and the person outlining can access the ceiling rose if you set up two ladders.
Step 5: To mark where the ceiling joists are, use a stud finder.
There are small lines outside where the rose is to use as guidelines.
Step 6: You can use it at your local hardware store.
Before placing the rose on the ceiling, you need to mix it.
Step 7: The ceiling should be set down on the worktable.
The spreader should be a one-half inch (12mm) wide.It will spread toward the ends if it is applied within a few inches of the edges.
Step 8: Lift the rose and thread the electrical cord through the center hole.
Paying attention to your guidelines, push the rose against the ceiling.Hold it in place for three minutes or so.
Step 9: To screw plaster screws through the ceiling rose, use your electric drill.
In three to four places.
Step 10: To clean the side of the rose, use a sponge.
Step 11: It is a good idea to caulk around the edges of your rose.
Matching paint can be used to cover the screw heads.
Step 12: Once it is dry, connect and hang your ceiling light fixture.
