You can retrieve deleted text messages from the phone.
If you want to restore deleted text messages to your phone, you have to use an iTunes or iCloud backup.If you use a backup, it will remove any data from after the backup has been used.
Step 1: Go to the store on the computer.
The app has a musical note on it.Do not click if you're prompted to.During this process, you'll need to restart your computer.
Step 2: Attach your device to the computer.
Attach the charging cable to the computer's port.Some Mac computers don't have a way to connect to the internet.
Step 3: Click the "Device" icon
There is an icon in the left side of the window.The summary page will open after you click it.
Step 4: Click the button to restore the backup.
There is a button on the right side of the page."Find My iPhone" should be turned off if prompted.If you want to return to your phone's present state, you should create a new backup first.Click if you want to create a new backup.
Step 5: When prompted, click the box next to "iPhone Name".
A drop-down menu will appear.
Step 6: There is a backup date you can click.
This is the date when your deleted text messages were still on the phone.
Step 7: Click to get back to normal.
It is on the right side of the page.Doing so will prompt your phone to back up.First, enter the password if your backup is password protected.It is possible that you will need to update your software before you can restore your phone.
Step 8: Wait for your restore to complete.
You should be able to view deleted text messages in the Messages app, which is the green app with a white speech bubble icon.
Step 9: You can open your settings on the phone.
The app is grey and has gears on it.You will most likely find it on the Home Screen.You might want to make sure you have an iCloud backup before you erase and restore.To do so, you need to tap the Apple ID name at the top of the "Settings" page.If there is a backup date listed here, you can restore an iCloud backup.
Step 10: Click General to scroll down.
It is at the bottom of the screen.To check for a backup, tap the "back" button in the top- left corner of the screen.
Step 11: You can reset it by scrolling down and tapping it.
There is an option at the bottom of the page.
Step 12: All content and settings can be erased by tapping.
There is a button at the top of the page.
Step 13: You need to type in your phone's password.
This is the code that unlocks your phone.skip this step if you don't have a password.
Step 14: If you want to erase the phone, tap twice.
It is at the bottom of the screen.
Step 15: Wait for theEraser to finish.
The process will take a while.You'll be able to select a backup once it's finished.
Step 16: Press the Home button on your phone.
The button below the screen is circular.
Step 17: The initial setup steps for your phone.
Select a language and region to connect to a wi-fi network.
Step 18: When prompted, tap Restore from iCloud backup.
You can install a backup from your account with this option.
Step 19: You need to enter your Apple ID email address and password.
You need the same credentials to download music or apps.
Step 20: You can choose the backup you want to back up.
It is in the middle of the screen.
Step 21: There's a backup date that you can tap.
It's important to remember that your desired texts were still on your phone when you selected the date.
Step 22: Wait for your restore to finish
You should be able to see your deleted texts in the Messages app once the restore is complete.
