You can learn how to import your Yahoo contacts into your Gmail inbox.If you prefer, you can import only your Yahoo contacts.If you want to switch from Yahoo to Gmail, you'll need a computer that's connected to the internet.
Step 1: Go to Gmail.
You can find it in your computer's web browser.If you log into your Gmail account, you will be able to open your inbox.If you don't have a Gmail account, you need to enter your email address and password.
Step 2: Click on the gear you want to modify.
It's on the right side of the inbox.A menu will appear.
Step 3: Click on settings.
The option is in the middle of the menu.The settings page opens if you do that.
Step 4: You can click on the Accounts and Import tab.
There is a tab at the top of the settings page.
Step 5: Mail and contacts can be imported.
There is a link in the "Import mail and contacts" section.Clicking on the link will lead to a pop-up window.If you've imported information from a different email account, you can click here.
Step 6: When prompted, enter your email address.
The text field is in the middle of the pop-up window.
Step 7: Click on Continue.
Below the text field is where it is.When Gmail finds your Yahoo address, a new window will open.
Step 8: Go to your Yahoo email account.
In the new window that opens, you can enter your email address and password.
Step 9: When prompted, click Agree.
There is a blue button near the window.
Step 10: The Yahoo login window should be closed.
This will make you focus on the other window.
Step 11: Click start import.
There is a button at the bottom of the window.You can change the boxes in this window to prevent features.
Step 12: Click OK if you don't want to.
There is a button at the bottom of the window.Gmail will import your Yahoo mail conversations and contacts if you do that.It may take up to two days for new emails to show up in your inbox.The settings page can be closed without affecting the import process.
Step 13: You can open Gmail.
You can find it in your computer's web browser.If you log into your Gmail account, you will be able to open your inbox.If you don't have a Gmail account, you need to enter your email address and password.
Step 14: Go to Gmail.
The inbox is in the top left corner.Clicking on it will lead to a drop-down menu.
Step 15: Click Contacts.
This option can be found in the drop-down menu.You will be able to open your Contacts page.
Step 16: Make sure you use the correct version of Contacts.
Follow any on-screen prompts if you see a link on the left side of the page.
Step 17: You can click more.
It is on the left side of the page.The menu will be expanded and options will appear.Click in the top- left corner of the page if you don't see this option on the left side.
Step 18: Click Import.
The option is below the heading.Clicking on it opens a window.
Step 19: Go to Yahoo Mail.
There is a pop-up window.
Step 20: Let's go, click I agree.When prompted.
This option can be found in the lower-right corner of the pop-up window.If you do that, you will be taken to the Yahoo sign-in page.
Step 21: Go to your Yahoo email account.
Click if you want to enter your Yahoo email address.
Step 22: When prompted, click Agree.
There is a blue button at the bottom of the window.This will let you know if you want to import your Yahoo contacts into your Contacts page.
Step 23: Wait for your Yahoo contacts to import.
Once they import into your Contacts page, you'll receive a notification.The Contacts page can be closed without stopping the import.
