You might have a new character in 'Moana'.

There are feature films, television programs, video games, and attractions in the area.

The sequel to Disney's 2016 animated feature film Moana is called Tamatoa. He is a giant crab that wants everything shiny and valuable. On top of his golden shell, Tamatoa displays his collected treasures.

Lalotai is a realm that is inhabited by monsters.Living in a giant seashell within the realm's depths, Tamatoa is known as a "beady-eyed bottom feeders," a social reputation he despises. He covers his shell in gold, rare artifacts and treasures as a means to elevate his status, and this overcompensation eventually became a crazed love for all things shiny.Over time, Tamatoa's materialistic obsession has driven him into madness.

A shiny shell isn't enough for Tamatoa. He has been scheming to take control of the island goddess Te Fiti for hundreds of years. The ultimate power of creation would be transferred to him by doing so.

The arch-nemesis of Maui is called Tamatoa. The two seem to know each other very well, with Tamatoa having knowledge of Maui's near-tragic beginnings.Maui says that the giant crab's hatred for him stems from the fact that he ripped off one of his legs.Maui received a tattoo for defeating him.Maui is out of practice using his fish hook, but not so much when he learns that Tamatoa is afraid of him despite his physical prowess.

It is possible that Tamatoa is insane. His mood tends to change at the drop of a hat in a matter of seconds. He's quite monstrous in both size and attitude; one of his most well-known traits being his habit of eating anyone around him, be they humans, sea creatures or even deities, he even admitted to eating his own grandmother.

When he dryly remarked that it took a week to eat his grandmother because of her enormous size, he had a twisted sense of humor. He takes pleasure in torturing his enemies both mentally and physically, as shown when he brutally thrashed Maui across his lair, while crushing the demigod's ego at the same time. With an apparent lack of boundaries, Tamatoa has no problem mocking someone's dead loved one or exposing their deepest secrets to amuse himself.

Tamatoa is very self-centered.He sees himself as beautiful and others as irrelevant.Tamatoa does not believe in inner-beauty or listening to your heart. He sees anyone who is not physically attractive or strong as insignificant and less than him, even if they are perfectly fit for a meal. This is his biggest flaw and causes his downfall, as he underestimated Moana's intelligence, which allowed her to best the villainous crustacean.

Tamatoa's narcissism is superficial. He uses his glamorous appearance and valuable possessions as a means of compensation. He welcomes anything that will increase his power and his social status, such as the heart of Te Fiti. His lust for power cripples him as he gave up his chance at destroying Maui in favor of chasing after Te Fiti.

The story of the mother island Te Fiti and her life-giving heart was told by Gramma Tala. Many sought the heart for its power, and among these ancient entities was Tamatoa, though Maui was the only one capable of stealing it.He was sent to a desolate island and lost his fish hook in the battle against the lava demon. At some point, the fish hook would be found and added to the collection of treasures. After the heart disappeared, Te K and the demons of the deep continued to search for it.The creatures depicted on the tapa cloths are called Tamatoa.

Maui was freed from his exile by Moana who needed him to return the heart of Te Fiti to its rightful place.Maui needs a fish hook in order to accomplish the mission. Two people sail to Lalotai and find a person. The crab was sent in as bait, and Moana covered herself in shiny objects. After waking, Tamatoa looks at the potential new prize, only to be disgusted by the fact that it's a human. To keep Tamatoa's attention away from Maui, Moana asks the crab to talk about his greatness, which he obliges to through the song "Shiny".He was a "drab little crab" before he began covering himself in all things shiny. He says that his shell is used practically, as the light attracts dozens of fish at a time, all of whom become Tamatoa's meal.Hungering for more, Tamatoa prepares to eat, only to be terrified when Maui shows himself.Maui's ability to shape-shift is crippled because he is out of practice with the weapon.

Tamatoa sees this as an opportunity to eliminate his foe and thusly attacks and abuses Maui.A cage made from bones is used to trap Moana when she tries to intervene. His form becomes bioluminescent, giving him a menacing appearance. He prepares to devour Maui, but Moana escapes her cell and creates a fake duplicate of Te Fiti's heart using a barnacle. The crab discards Maui in favor of his coveted treasure when she calls to him to show him the shiny prize in her possession. He chases after the person who dropped the heart on the ocean floor. While Tamatoa digs for it, Moana takes the fish hook and escapes with Maui. The enraged crustacean chases after the duo after he learns he's been tricked. They launch themselves onto a geyser, and the impact of the shooting water knocks Tamatoa onto his shell. He was stranded on the ocean floor and asked if he liked his song.

After the credits, he is still trapped and trying to get off his shell, but to no avail. He sings a short, melancholy version of "Shiny" before asking the audience for assistance, and joked that if his name were "Sebastian" and he had a Jamaican accent, the crowd would be happy to help.

The third part of the Disney Infinity series was to feature a boss named Tamatoa. The design of the game's model was similar to that of his earlier design, which was more refined and less grotesque.

"Shiny" is the overarching theme of the villains' segment in Disney's Hollywood Studios, with Tamatoa being the central villain. The Chinese Theater is transformed into the interior of the seashell hideout when he shows up.After the appearances of the Kakamora and Te K, Tamatoa becomes bioluminescent, which leads to the appearance of other Disney villains. At the end of the sequence, Tamatoa timidly asks the audience if they liked the song.

There are video games and books on the soundtrack.
