Your glasses need to be cleaned.

Although glasses are popular and effective, they can be difficult to keep clean and delicate. The lens can get smudged and become dirty if it is touched or worn in dusty environments.Keeping your glasses clean and safe can be done with a mixture of protective measures, common sense, and occasional cleanings.

Step 1: It's a good idea to wash your hands before handling your glasses.

If you have been touching dirty or greasy objects, this is important.Natural oils on your fingers will leave streaks and smudges. When you need to touch your glasses, wash your hands first. The fur and skin of household pets are some of the common sources of dirt and oils that get on eyeglasses.

Step 2: Don't touch the glasses while adjusting them.

If you need to push your glasses back up, you should grip the frames.Grease and oils will transfer from your hands to the lens if you push directly on it.If you do it consistently and never adjust your glasses by pressing on the lens, it will become a habit over time.

Step 3: If you are cooking on a stove, protect your glasses.

If you are cooking greasy foods on high heat, the hot oils will spray out of the pan, and can smudge your glasses. If you need to wear your glasses while cooking, put a lid over the pot to protect yourself from being sprayed with hot oil.As soon as possible, clean your glasses if they have been smudged by grease.Eggs are likely to splatter grease and oil while being cooked.

Step 4: It's a good idea to keep your face and hair clean.

If you push your glasses up high on your face, your skin will build up oils that can transfer to your eyes.Natural oils from your hair can smudge your glasses. You should wash your face at least once a day.If you have long hair, these can carry oils and transfer them to your eyes. It's a good idea to keep your back bangs out of your glasses.

Step 5: Protect your glasses from the weather.

There are unique challenges for individuals who wear glasses. You should be aware that your glasses will be smudged and speckled with dirt after being in a dirty environment, and will also be streaked with water after a rainstorm. If the weather is windy or rainy, take your glasses off.Rain will evaporate from your glasses, but it will leave a stain on them.If small dust particles get stuck to your glasses, don't rub them off without rinsing them.Dust can permanently scratch your glasses.

Step 6: Before you go to sleep take your glasses off.

It is important that you do not sleep while wearing glasses. While sleeping, you will roll over and move around, which poses a threat to your glasses. They can be smudged by oils on your face and pillow. You are at risk of breaking the frame if you roll over.If you are only lying down to rest, take off your glasses. It is not worth the risk of snapping the frames.

Step 7: Make sure that your glasses don't smudge your makeup.

When putting on makeup, make sure your glasses don't touch the bridge of your nose.Remove the makeup from that spot on your nose.Makeup on the bridge of your nose can smudge your glasses. After you have cleaned off the makeup on your nose, you should clean your glasses and nose pads.Makeup can be difficult to remove because of its high oil content.

Step 8: The water is not warm enough to run the glasses under.

From contact with your fingers, dirt in the air, or other things, your glasses will inevitably get dirty. If the lens are smudged, run them under water to loosen the dirt. It's a good idea to wash your hands, so that you don't put oils on the lens.Anti-glare treatments can be damaged by hot water.

Step 9: The soap should be rubbed onto the lens.

You can cut through the oils and dirt on your glasses by rubbing the soap on them.Make sure to clean both sides of the lens.Hand soap can be used to clean your eyes.If you smudge the lens with the lotion in the soap, it is a lotion-free soap.

Step 10: It is a good idea to rinse and dry the lenses.

After you wash them, rinse them under water. It's a good idea to dry them using a clean, dry, lint-free cloth.

Step 11: Don't buy products that contain ammonia, bleach, or vinegar.

The protective coating on your glasses will be taken away by these substances.Do not use Windex or window cleaner to clean your glasses. To clean your glasses, you should only use commercially-made or homemade cleaners.Don't wash the cloth used to dry the lenses with fabric softener or a dryer sheet. It can leave streaks behind.Do not spit on your glasses or clean your lens with saliva. There are germs and oils in saliva which will smudge your glasses.

Step 12: Put your glasses in their case.

Place your glasses in a case when you are not wearing them.Without a case, glasses can get damaged. You should keep your glasses in their case while you sleep.Dust can get on reading glasses if they are kept in a glasses case.

Step 13: Keep a soft cloth in your case.

You will usually get a soft microfiber cloth with your glasses purchase. If you keep this in the case, it will give you two benefits: keeping your frames comfortable, and giving you an easy way to wipe the lens if they become dirty. You can just grab your cloth out of your case and clean them if you get dust and water on them. The fabric of your shirt will not be as clean as the microfiber cloth.

Step 14: Before you engage in physical activities, remove your glasses.

Since sports involve running, flying dust and dirt, falling and colliding with other players, it's best to remove your glasses so they don't get smudged or broken. You risk damaging the frames if you don't take them off. Many people who wear glasses choose to wear backup contact lens when they play sports.

Step 15: Do not lend your glasses to others.

If someone else is wearing your glasses, you lose control of what happens to them.Other people may not know how to care for glasses delicately.
