Banners & signs are fire resistant and can be used to make door decorations.

What kinds of crafting items are fire resistant? There wasn't much information on it.

I don't think there are any.I was looking but didn't find them.It is Carnival's way of saying you can't decorate your door without actually saying it.

We decorate our door with a couple of cut outs.If they take them down, I'm going to put them up.

There will be no effect if there is a fire. The furniture, bedding and drapes will do the job.

You'll be alright if you use commercially made items. There is very little chance that the cabin steward or any other staff member will test your decorations for fire safety.Follow Carnival's guidelines.Don't decorate the walls, ceiling, or anything else.It should be simple. If the ship is engulfed in flames, do you think anyone will worry about whether or not the damage will be less if your door decorations are fire resistant? There is a difference between fire retardant and fire proof. It's causing a lot of confusion because too many people are getting those two terms mixed up.

I think the worry is related to the fire.If the fire gets to the door, a piece of paper or few is not going to make a difference unless it gets blown down the hall and starts another fire.

Will allow the girls to figure out what they want to do.If they want something on the door, it will be something geeky.

Thank you for your reply, I never did it before on a cruise, but I thought it would be a nice surprise for my son's birthday.I agree that there are many other things on the ship that could cause a fire.On his birthday, they are decorating the inside.

My daughter was 14 when we did that. The dining staff was at the door. One of her circle C friends found out about it, and they helped as well.

Wow!I don't know if there are any "step by step" instructions for those. The door could be difficult to open with the 3D ones.

Everyone went crazy with the door decorating contest on the special cruise. This is not the case on your cruise ship.

I don't want Carnival to insult everyone's intelligence by saying it is a fire hazard.rolleyes:

On a typical cruise most door decor is dry erase boards, car magnets, and the type of stuff you'd see on a college freshman's dorm door.

They went nuts, but then again, most NKOTB fans are like me, housewives who spend their free time crafting.

On our recent cruise, many cabin doors in our hallway had decorations on them, ranging from whiteboards, full door plastic coverings, balloons, signs, etc. They were very dangerous. The cabins were not taken down by anyone.

When the dress rule is broken, the people who have apoplectic fits are told to ignore it.
