The best place to grow bitter melon is in tropical regions.Consuming this vegetable may improve your eyesight and even kill cancer cells.There are many ways to incorporate bitter melon into your diet and still enjoy it.Before you cook or eat your bitter melon, make sure to cut it properly.Stir-fry your bitter melon or blend it into a beverage.

Step 1: You can find long, green warty fruit at the farmers market.

The bitter melon doesn't look like a typical melon.You can find a vegetable that looks like a cucumber at the farmer's market in July and August.

Step 2: Choose a small melon.

When choosing from a group of bitter melon, it is best to go for the smaller, harder ones that are light green.They become more bitter as they age.If you see a melon with a touch of orange or yellow, get it.These are milder in flavor.

Step 3: You can store bitter melon in your refrigerator for up to 5 days.

If you are looking for a more creative way to consume bitter melon, try it in a cocktail.To grate the skin of a melon, use a box grater.If you want to squeeze out the juice, wrap the skin in a cloth.Add 1 ounce of simple syrup, 3 ounces of lime juice, and a dash of gin and ice to a cocktail shaker.Put the drink in a glass.Stir in 2 ounces of soda water.
