Mesh heads do make a sound, but it's not all that loud and should work in an apartment/quiet residential neighborhood setting. The response, however, is not realistic (sort of like playing on a tennis racquet), with lots of bounce, and could wreak havoc with one's technique over time.Apr 26, 2011
