How To Beat Super Mario Bros. on the NES Quickly

Chances are you've played Super Mario Brothers.The first installments of our favorite Italian plumber are filled with love and hate.We decided to remedy our generation's nightmares of playing this game and write in detail how to beat it in six minutes or less.This explanation is not for a Mario player.If you don't know how the game works, we recommend you read the manual and play a few times to get used to the controls.

Step 1: Start running as the game begins.

Always going at full speed is a rule of thumb.

Step 2: Jump from pipe to pipe in order to avoid every Goomba.

Step 3: The 4th pipe is where you encounter it.

Step 4: Don't worry about trying to pick up every coin inside the tunnel, exit as quickly as possible.

Step 5: We need to keep our rule of being above the danger and finish the level without worrying about making a perfect jump to the flag.

Step 6: Continue to run fast. This will be assumed from now on.

Step 7: Jump over the Goombas to avoid them.

There are blocks.

Step 8: You have to time your jumps so that you don't lose time.

Step 9: Do not stop as the two turtles approach you.

Use the blocks to hit the 2nd Koopa Troopa.Do not slow down.

Step 10: You can use the Ricochet Jump to pass by enemies.

Step 11: You need to land in front of or behind the plants to avoid them.

Step 12: If you jump on top of the ceiling, you will see all the information at the top.

Step 13: Continue to run to the right, then take the warp pipe to World 4.

Step 14: Go under the first spiked ball thrown by Lakitu.

Step 15: It's important that you don't stop for any coins in this level.

Blocks.

Step 16: It is possible to make a clean jump over the next plants.

You can jump from the ground clear over the plant if you time your jump perfectly.

Step 17: Jump onto the bottom row of blocks at the next gap.

Step 18: You have to make a clean jump over the stack of 3 blocks that is somewhat of a wall before the last gap.

Step 19: You can finish the level by jumping up a large stack of blocks.

When you jump, ignore the brick below you.

Step 20: You can jump on top of the stack of bricks if you clear the first two gaps.

Be sure to land on the top of the stack.

Step 21: Three Goombas jump over the 3rd to land on the 2nd one.

Step 22: You should jump between the four.

The moving elevators have blocks on them.

Step 23: Hit the farthest left block in the row of three from the elevator jump and the beanstalk will grow out of the block.

Step 24: While the plant is growing, position yourself below the rightmost block of the platform to jump on.

Step 25: The plant grew out of the platform after you jumped on the stepping block.

Step 26: If you want, you can collect the coins in this stage.

Step 27: The warp pipe will take you to World 8.

Step 28: Immediately jump over the next 3 monsters.

Timing your first two jumps is an important factor in avoiding the plant that emerges from the tube.

Step 29: Immediately jump to avoid the 2 turtles after hopping over the first tube.

Step 30: You don't need to jump over the next 6 pits.

You can run over them.

Step 31: To get to the plant in the next tube, jump on the tube's edge and jump again.

Step 32: Normally, the next tube can be jumped over.

Step 33: To kill the second monster, you want to time your jump over the next tube.

Step 34: You can save time by avoiding the turtles.

Step 35: Immediately jump to avoid the jumping monster after jumping over the first wall of blocks.

Step 36: You can jump between the monsters.

Step 37: There are three tubes separated by chasms.

Plants are contained in the first two.To get to the third tube without a plant, you have to leap onto the edge of the second tube.

Step 38: Avoid four monsters by jumping off of the third tube.

Step 39: You will find another chasm.

Time your jump so that you land on the piece of land in the middle.

Step 40: Timing is even more important as you perform the next jump.

Step 41: If you fall into the pits, be careful.

Step 42: You can see two Koopa Troopas as you climb the first rock tower.

If you jump over the first Koopa and the Spiny thrown at the same time, you will slip under the 2nd one.

Step 43: Staying above every cannon is the only way to continue at full speed once you reach the section of the level littered with cannons.

The best way to avoid Bullet Bill is to land on top of as many as possible.

Step 44: You have to jump four tubes with plants sticking out after the piranha cannons.

Timing is the key to clearing each jump.The third tube is near a ravine.In order to perform a clean jump, land in front of the tube and slow down.The only part of the game that requires you to slow down is this one.

Step 45: There is a tricky part after this jump.

To clear a sequence of Koopa Troopas, it is necessary to run under the first and jump quickly to land on the single cannon.If you have trouble with this part, you can take the warp tube.

Step 46: The few enemies that don't cross your path of movement can be ignored.

Step 47: Run up the block wall and grab the flag.

Step 48: Jump over obstacles and do a clean jump over the plant.

Step 49: The only way to clear the Hammer Brothers without slowing down is to perform aricochet jump and kill the one on the bottom.

Step 50: You have to clear the gap/block stack/gap combination in a single jump.

Step 51: You can run past the Hammer Brothers if you jump in between the two rows of bricks.

Step 52: At the third occurrence of these hammer brothers, jump the first hammer bro and as the next hammer brother is in the air jump so that you can kill him in mid jump.

Step 53: Jump over the next tube with the plant when you land.

Step 54: You can jump the first and second at the final sight of the Hammer Brothers.

It's not very difficult to stop you on their part.

Step 55: You can jump on the 2nd block that is in mid-air after you land from jumping the second Hammer Brother.

Step 56: To grab the flag, you have to jump to the last two platforms.
