How To Call with Alexa

You should be able to make calls with voice commands after you set the app up.You can dial out to most numbers in the US, Canada or Mexico if you choose to do so.You can't use your voice to dial the emergency number.

Step 1: The app is open.

You can sign in to your Amazon account with the mobile app on your phone.The app has a white outline of a speech bubble.Make sure you sign in to the same account that you registered your device with.

Step 2: There is a Speech bubble icon.

It is at the bottom of the screen.

Step 3: You have to enter your mobile phone number.

You'll be sent a verification text message if you enter your phone number when prompted.If you have access to a device that can receive text messages, make sure it's a mobile number.It is possible that messaging rates may apply.

Step 4: You should check your text messages for a verification code.

You should see a text message that says your verification code is.Take note of the code.

Step 5: You can enter the verification code in the app.

To verify your phone number, type the code in the text message.

Step 6: When prompted, give Alexa permission to import your contacts.

To add your phone's contact list, tap "allow".You will be able to use voice commands to make calls.

Step 7: Say "Alexa".

If you say wake, she will listen for your next command.If you've changed the default wake command to "Echo," "Amazon," or something else, then you should use the wake commands you previously set.

Step 8: You can call someone on your contacts list.

Say their name and you can call them.If you wanted to call a friend, you would say, "Alexa, call John Smith."To make a call, you can tap the phone icon and then the name of the contact.

Step 9: Call the contact's other phone numbers if you ask.

You can specify which number to call if a contact has multiple phone numbers.You would say "Alexa, call John Smith at work" if you wanted to make a call.

Step 10: Ask the person on the other end to hang up the phone.

If you want to end a call, say "Alexa, hang up."Pressing the red phone icon will allow you to hang up from the app.

Step 11: You can call a specific phone number.

You can call out to any number in the US, Canada, or Mexico by saying the number.Say, "Alexa, dial 555-555-5555" and the phone should ring.You can say "call" instead of "dial" if you want to.You can't call phone numbers from the app.If there is more than one person in your household, you will be asked to call.List all the people in your household.The number of the user you choose will show up on the person's caller ID.
