How To Create Cat Eyes with Only Eyeshadow

You probably first think about eyeliner when you think of cat eye makeup. You don't necessarily need eyeliner to create this look. The traditional look is created by extending the eyeliner to create a flick at the outer corner, but this can be recreated using only eyeshadow. The perfect cat eye can be achieved with proper eyeliner products, some eyeshadow brushes, and a bit of tape.

Step 1: Take care of your eyes.

Makeup primer should be used to create a perfect base for makeup and to prevent smudges and creasing in eyeshadow. You can put a bit on your hand.Bring it out along the outer corner and below your eye.To create a barrier between the tape and your skin, use a bit of primer and stick a piece of tape to it.The tape will be easier to remove.

Step 2: Use tape to make a border.

A crisp, sharp border is a must for a perfect cat eye.The best way to make a cat eye is with tape.Put a piece of tape on your finger. It will be more gentle on your facial skin if you put it on the back of your hand.If you want it to extend at the same angle as your bottom lash line, place it on the outer corner of your eye.If you are having trouble with this, just picture normal cat eyeliner. The eyeliner usually runs on the side of the tape.

Step 3: You can shade your inner corner with a light neutral shade.

You can use any shade that you want.A light tan color is perfect for this step.Put the shade on your inner corner with a fluffy brush. It doesn't have to be perfect if you blend your shadows out later.

Step 4: There is a dark gray shadow on the outer corner.

You will understand why the tape is so important.Load the brush with a dark gray shadow. As far as you want your cat eye to extend, begin running the gray shadow along the tape.Stop halfway along your lid as you sweep it inwards.

Step 5: Use a light brown color to blend out the gray shadow.

Load the brush with a medium brown shade.Put it over the gray and blend it together. The goal is to blend the gray shadow with the brown shade.

Step 6: There is a black shadow in the outer corner.

The base was created with a gray shadow.Just like you did with the gray, extend the black shadow along the tape. The black should be swept into your crease as well. The outer eye will have a really bold cat eye effect. The tape should only run close to the outer edge of your crease.

Step 7: The black should be blend upwards.

After putting the black shadow in the corner, blend it out over the crease and upwards onto the lid.Smoke, blend or spread out the product that you already put on your eye if you want to add more product to your brush. You don't need to worry about ruining the precision you need for this look because the tape gives you a sharp edge.

Step 8: Along the tape line, add more black.

Add a bit more black to the tape line after you have blended all of the shadows together to emphasize the cat eye shape. You don't need to blend the shadow again because you already blended it out.The boldest cat eye effect can be created by the shadow being dark along the border of the tape.

Step 9: The tape needs to be removed.

Make sure your eyes are symmetrical and that everything is fully blended. You want to see the sharp lines that you put on the tape. The tape can be used to create a sharp cat eye angle.

Step 10: Put on mascara.

Your cat eyeshadow has a cherry on top.Start applying your mascara again. The wand should be placed at the base of your lashes to prevent clumping. After your first coat has dried, apply another coat to your outer lashes. The cat eye shape you created with the shadow will make the outer lashes a bit more bold and curled.Set your makeup with a spray. This will make sure everything stays in place.
