How To Delete Temporary Files in Windows 7

You can learn how to remove temporary files from your Windows 7 computer.After you enable your computer's "Show Hidden Files" feature, you can remove temporary files from the App folder, Windows folder and internet cache.

Step 1: You can close every program.

You won't be able to remove temporary files from your computer if they're being used by programs.

Step 2: The start can be open.

The Windows logo can be found in the bottom- left corner of the screen.

Step 3: Click on the box.

The Start window has it at the bottom.

Step 4: There is a way to type in windows explorer.

If you do that, you'll be able to find the Windows Explorer app on your computer.

Step 5: Click to open Windows Explorer.

The folder will be affected by the removal of the "Read-only" protection.If you want to remove read-only protection from this folder, you may have to click or verify.

Step 23: Click OK.

There is a window at the bottom.The folder's contents can be deleted.

Step 24: You can open the Temp folder.

Click the folder to open it.

Step 25: Select all of the files.

Click again and then press the A and A keys at the same time.

Step 26: The files should be deleted.

Click in the drop-down menu if you press your computer's Del key.The contents of the folder will be put into the recycle bin.To permanently remove these files from your computer, you'll need to empty the Recycle Bin.There may be some system files in the Temp folder.You won't be able to remove these if that is the case.They will only take up a small amount of space.

Step 27: Click on the My Computer tab again.

The window is on the left side.

Step 28: Click your hard drive.

This will open the hard drive's folder.

Step 29: Click on the folder.

It's usually in the middle of the window.

Step 30: Select the Temp folder after scrolling down.

This is at the bottom of the window.

Step 31: The Temp folder has read protection.

Click the "Read-only" box if you want to check it.Click when prompted.Click if you want to.

Step 32: The Temp folder should be opened.

To do that, double-click the folder.

Step 33: Select all of the files.

Click again and then press the A and A keys at the same time.

Step 34: The files should be deleted.

If you press the Del key, you'll be taken to the drop-down menu.The contents of the folder will be moved into the recycle bin.To permanently remove these files from your computer, you'll need to empty the recycle bin.

The "Browsing history" section of the window has it in the lower-right corner.

Step 41: Click on the files you want to view.

The bottom-right corner of the window is where this option is located.

Step 42: You can select the files.

Click again and then press the A and A keys at the same time.

Step 43: The files need to be deleted.

Click in the drop-down menu if you press your computer's Del key.The internet cache folder's files will be sent to the recycle bin.To permanently remove these files from your computer, you'll need to empty the recycle bin.
