How To Dispute an Uber Fare

You can learn how to file a fare complaint with the app.Part or all of your fare may be returned if they agree with you.Filing a dispute doesn't guarantee compensation.You can dispute a fare by using the website or the mobile app.

Step 1: You can open the ride hailing service.

The black-and-white logo of the app resembles it.If you're a member of the service, this will open the map interface.If you don't already have a phone number and password, you should log in with them first.

Step 2: You can tap.

It is in the left-hand corner of the screen.A menu will appear.

Step 3: You can tap your trips.

This is at the top of the menu.

Step 4: Go to the Past tab.

It is at the top of the screen.A list of recent trips can be opened by doing that.

Step 5: Pick a trip.

If you want to dispute the trip, tap it.

Step 6: I would like to get a refund.

There is a list of options.A list of possible issues can be opened by doing so.tap in the middle of the page if you see a receipt listed here.

Step 7: Pick an issue.

Some of the issues listed in the app are not disputable.You can tap one of these issues.

Step 8: Take a look at the issue's policy.

If you want to avoid confusion, read the policy on your issue before proceeding.

Step 9: The issue's form should be filled out.

If you have to, scroll down and fill out the form.You may have to check a box next to your specific issue if you want to provide details about the incident.If you chose "My driver took a poor route", you'll only see a "share details" field for you to describe the event.You can have more options if you choose "I paid my driver cash" or "Did your driver ask for a cash tip?"How much cash was paid?When giving this information, be careful.The more information you give, the more informed a decision will be.

Step 10: If you want to submit, tap it.

It's at the bottom of the page.If they agree with your criteria, they will refund your payment method.

Step 11: You can open the website.

Go to the website in your browser.You can request a refund on the site, just like with the mobile app.

Step 12: Click to sign up.

It can be found in the upper-right corner of the page.To view your trip history and file a dispute for a specific trip, you'll need to sign in with your account.

Step 13: You have to sign into your account.

If prompted, enter your password and check the "I'm not a robot" box.

Step 14: There is a FOR RIDERS tab.

There is a light-grey tab on the left side of the window.

Step 15: The box has a date on it.

There is a "Trip Issues and Refunds" heading at the top of the map section.Doing so leads to a menu.

Step 16: Pick a trip.

If you want to dispute a charge, click the date of the trip.The selected trip will be reflected in the information and links to the right of the map section.

Step 17: I would like to get a refund.

The option is to the right of the map section.The trip's page will open.

Step 18: Select an issue by scrolling down.

The issues listed at the bottom of the page should suit you, so click one that suits you.

Step 19: As much information as possible.

You'll be able to fill out the form once you've selected a reason.There are slightly different forms for different reasons.If you selected "I paid a toll for my driver," there will be a field for you to enter how much it was.You need to be clear and polite.Angry, disrespectful requests are more likely to be ignored or rejected.

Step 20: Click submit.

There is a button at the bottom of the page.This will be used to submit your dispute.

Step 21: Wait for the claim to be processed.

It could take anywhere from 24 hours to a week.You'll get a decision at the email address you registered to.
