How To Draw Up Insulin

If you have to give an injection, you should wash your hands and clean the bottles with alcohol wipes. If you want to give a single type of injection, pull the same amount of air into the needle as the volume of the injection. If you pull up the required dose, you will be ready for the injection.Pull up air and let it go into each bottle without drawing up any insulin. Then draw up the clear and cloudy insulin.

Step 1: You should wash your hands.

You need to wash your hands before handling medicine and needles.Warm water and soap can be used to scrub the hand. You can dry your hands with a paper towel.Germs andbacteria can be found in hand towels.

Step 2: Before using, wipe the top of the bottle with an alcohol wipe.

An alcohol wipe is needed to clean the top of each bottle. Before moving on to the next step, make sure the alcohol is dry.Don't wipe the alcohol off or try to dry it another way, as this could cause a problem with your bottle.

Step 3: Before using NPH, place it between your hands.

It is important that you roll the vial between the palms of your hands at least 20 times before you start using it.After it is injected into the body, this helps mix theinsulin so that it can be more effective.Air bubbles can make their way into the syringe if you shake the vial of NPH.

Step 4: To make sure the amount ofinsulin you use is equal, pull air into the syringe.

The air will enter the inside of the syringe if the needle is pulled out.You should pull in the same amount of air as you use.Pull up 10 units of air into the needle.

Step 5: The air can be expelled by putting the needle in the bottle.

If you want the needle to point down, place the bottle on the flat surface.Put the needle into the bottle and push it down to release the air.If you keep your finger firmly on the plunger, it will not release until you are ready to measure the insulin.

Step 6: The bottle needs to be turned upside down to get theinsulin into the needle.

Pick up the bottle and turn it upside down.Slowly pull up the required amount from the bottle.Place the bottle back on the flat surface after removing the needle.

Step 7: The air should be equal to the first dose of the drug.

The air can be pulled inside by releasing the needle. The volume of air you draw up should be the same as that of the first kind of injection. You will need to pull in 7 units of air for this first step. You should always draw up clearinsulin before the NPH.

Step 8: Place the needle into the first bottle.

The air will be released into the bottle if the needle is inserted into it.Remove the needle from the bottle.During this process, make sure the bottle ofinsulin is kept on a flat surface.

Step 9: The first two steps are repeated with the second bottle.

If you put the same amount of air into the needle as the second type of insulin, it will equal the dosage. The air in the second bottle can be expelled by pressing the plunger. At this time, don't put any of the insulin into the needle.

Step 10: First you have to draw up the clearinsulin.

The clear bottle has a needle in it.Pull up the plunger when the bottle is upside down to get the required dose of clearinsulin.Remove the needle from the bottle and replace it with a new one.

Step 11: Second, draw up the cloudy insulin.

Put the needle in the bottle and turn it upside down.Pull the plunger back until you have pulled the right amount of the drug.Remove the needle from the bottle and put it back on the surface.Don't put too much pressure on the needle until you are ready to use the second dose.
