How to fix a gas fireplace that won't stay lit

Dirt and soot can accumulate in the thermocouple on a gas fireplace, which can eventually cause it to malfunction and prevent the fireplace from lighting up.When the fireplace is turned off, it is a good time to clean the thermocouple.Only adults should perform this task in order to reduce the risk of injury.

Remove the front panel from the fireplace by turning off the gas valve.Some panels have a screw on each side that needs to be removed.
