How To Fix Vape Pen Wires

There are a lot of wire issues that cause good vape pens to stop working.Try a few simple repairs before throwing your pen.All debris should be removed from the heating chamber. To adjust the coil in the chamber, use a paperclip.soldering or replacing the device is the only solution for broken wires.

Step 1: The heating chamber needs to be removed.

The tank is the top part of the pen.To remove it, twist it counterclockwise. The heating chamber has a coil inside.Leave the wire coil in place when you pull it off.First, let the pen warm up.Don't touch the pen if it's too hot, and turn it off before taking it apart.

Step 2: Remove the heating chamber.

The garbage bag has a heating chamber inside. To clear out any loose material, tap it against a solid surface.Rub the inside edges of the chamber with a small brush.A lot of pens come with cleaning brushes.Wherever the pens are sold you can usually order a replacement.

Step 3: Ipsen alcohol can be used to remove wax and oil.

Pick up a bottle of alcohol at a store.Don't soak the cotton swab. You don't want the alcohol to get into the rest of the pen.If the coil and chamber appear blackened or covered in debris, use the cotton swab to wipe them down. When handling the coil be gentle. The most delicate part of the pen is the wire and it is often the cause of a nonfunctional pen.Water should not be used to clean the heating chamber.Water will short circuit it because it has a lot of wires. The water can be used to clean the mouth.

Step 4: If you want to test it, screw the pen back together.

The heating elements should work again if you have replaced the wire recently. The heating chamber needs to be screwed onto the pen.Smoke should come from it and it should glow. The pen may need more cleaning or the wire may be out of place if it doesn't work.

Step 5: To remove metal wire fragments, use a magnet.

It can happen when you install your own wires.A small magnet can be found at a home improvement center or hardware store. If there are loose fragments that could cause a short, move the magnet around the heating chamber and coil.Throw them away after you test your pen.

Step 6: Look inside the heating chamber with the pen.

The pen's mouth should be removed again.Continue until you can see the wire coil inside the heating chamber. The lowest section contains the battery. It's a good idea to make the pen feel cool before touching it.If the coil needs adjustment, the pen won't heat at all.If you feel heat coming off the coil, don't touch it.

Step 7: The screws need to be in place.

The heating chamber has a coil that screws into it.The battery is held in place by the first screw at the bottom of the coil. The coil is fastened to the wall by the other screw.Your coil is probably not either if the screws aren't in place. To find replacement screws, take it to a vape pen shop.

Step 8: The power circuit needs to be restored.

After adjusting the coil, the screws can come loose. If you can, remove the heating chamber. To twist them slightly, use a small screwdriver or toothpick. To tighten the screws, turn them clockwise. The coil won't heat if the screws are tightened too much.As you test the coil, turn on the power.

Step 9: To use a paperclip as an adjusting tool, straighten it.

A lot of shorts are caused by heating coil placement.A paperclip is a good tool for reaching into tight spaces in the chamber and nudging the wire into position. The end of the clip should be bent into a hook.

Step 10: The wire should be moved away from the walls.

The wire should be inside the chamber. The paperclip can be pushed inside the chamber by using the hook end.The screws hold the ends in place. Before touching the coil, turn off the power.Your pen can be broken by metal on metal.

Step 11: Continue testing and adjusting the pen.

Turn the pen on after removing the paperclip. The paperclip can be used again if it still doesn't work.Lift the coil and push it down to center it over the screw. You can align it with the walls by nudging it to the side. The pen should be tested again.Put the pen back together when the coil starts heating.Aligning the coil isn't an exact science.Sometimes it takes a little luck to find the right position on a coil. The wire is easy to move out of place.Dropping the pen or bumping it too hard can cause it to shift.

Step 12: If the pen still doesn't work, replace the heating element.

You can take the pen to a professional shop.Sometimes an experienced professional can find a way to fix it.Purchase a new heating coil or get a replacement pen.If you want to save money, you should get a new heating element for your pen and have a professional repair it.To get an exact replacement, note your pen's brand. All you have to do is remove the old heating element and affix the new one by hand.

Step 13: Work in a well-ventilated area.

You don't want to breathe in metals during soldering. All the doors and windows are open. The air is flowing through your workspace.

Step 14: You should wear glasses to protect your eyes.

A nice pair of glasses is needed for welding.Since you are working with small wires, you will not be able to wear gloves. When not in use, put the hot soldering iron in its stand and use the tweezers to hold the wires. The hot iron should never be left on the work surface.

Step 15: Remove the parts of the pen.

To remove them, twist the parts clockwise. If you don't know how to reassemble the pen, set each part aside. The battery is located at the bottom of the pen.The heating element is connected to the part above it.The wires go from the battery to the heating element. Before touching the pen, make it feel cool. The pen should not heat up if a wire is broken.

Step 16: Same colored wires are twisted together.

There is a red wire and a black wire.Bring the ends of the wire together.Wrap the ends around each other. The twisted spot needs to be thin.If you need to expose more wires, use wire strippers or a utility knife.Rub the exposed filaments to make them easier to twist together. The battery is connected to the heating element by a red wire. The black wire goes from the battery to the heating chamber.

Step 17: Put the soldering iron against the wire solder.

Pick up solder wire from the home improvement store. If you want to solder, lay the end of the wire near the wires. After letting the iron heat up for a minute, place the tip against the end of the wire.

Step 18: The colored wires were sold together.

The wires should be held together.Bring the soldering iron over to the exposed portion with your other hand.Drop the soldering material off against the iron.Continue applying metal until the wires are covered. The soldering iron needs to be moved. It might melt the exposed wires if it hangs over them. The tip should be used to spread the soldering material.

Step 19: After the joint cools, cover it.

After a few minutes, the joint will solidify. The best way to cover the joint is with a shrink tube.Wrap it around the joint and apply heat to shrink it.A hair dryer is a good way to do this, but you can also use a match or a soldering iron.It is possible to cover the joint with electrical tape.

Step 20: The pen is being tested.

Pack the wires into the chambers of the pen.If you turn on the pen, it should work again. If the pen doesn't work, return it to the store to have a professional look at it or buy a new one.The wires might have come loose. It is difficult to fix at home if you can't locate the wires. The pen should be brought to a professional.
