You can learn how to get the app on a computer.To download software for your headset, you have to use the Oculus App.It is only compatible with Windows PCs and not on Mac.
Step 1: In a web browser, go to https://www.oculus.com.
Any web browser can be used on a Windows computer.
Step 2: You can click on it.
There is a black bar at the top of the page that leads to the left.Below the black bar at the top, there is a white bar with options for the headset.The only other devices that connect to your computer are the ones that require a computer application.To find out if your PC meets the minimum requirements, scroll down to the bottom of the Overview tab.It is possible to download a tool that will check your PC to make sure it meets the minimum requirements.
Step 3: Click setup.
It is the furthest option to the right in the white bar.
Step 4: Click to download the software.
It's the white button that says "Get Started with Rift".The install file for the software is downloaded here.
Step 5: Click the file to open it.
Downloads can be found in the Downloads folder.Click on the install file in your browser.The program opens.
Step 6: Click Let's Go if you don't know your language.
Select your language with the drop-down menu.The default language in the US is English.Click to continue.
Step 7: Click Agree.
This shows that you agree with the terms.
Step 8: Click Next to choose an install location.
The software will be installed on your "C:" drive.Select a different location in the file browser if you want to install it there.When you are ready to go, click.
Step 9: Click here to install.
The app is installed.It takes 5 gigabytes to install.You will need to go through a setup process for the headset before you can use it.You can learn more about how to set up the headset and create an account by reading "How to Use"
