How to Paint a Room Quickly and Easily with a Paint Sprayer - The Home depot.

A more consistent finish can be achieved by painting a room with an indoor paint sprayer. We used one to transform a spare bedroom.

Finding tools that help us do our job better is one of my favorite things about interior design and home improvement. One of those jobs is painting. We paint everything - walls, furniture, floors, floor tiles, baskets. Why?Paint transforms a space like nothing else.

Painting can be hard.It is time consuming, messy, and unforgiving. It requires careful preparation.A few months ago, Bruno and I took part in a painting event. There are paint sprayers that are game changing. We had always been hesitant to use a paint sprayer indoors, but the folks at Wagner took us into their painting 'lab' and taught us some tricks, and I painted two large walls in less than 10 minutes.I looked at Bruno and said, "I'm never rolling a wall again."I meant it.

The paint coverage was flawless because the indoor paint sprayer made the process go fast. There were no streaks, no thin areas that needed another coat, and no thick, drippy areas. It was the best painting experience of my life.

An empty bedroom in our home was transformed into a cozy den with the help of a room makeover. The foundation for the whole room was a fresh coat of paint, and we were eager to experiment with spraying the walls instead of rolling and cutting in.

It will save you a lot of time if you spray the walls. You have to make sure your room is ready for success. It depends on the right masking and surface protection products. To make sure our room was prepared correctly, we used a few key supplies from Trimaco.

Trimaco makes all the painting jobsite protection products professionals use, and they have something for everything. When spraying a room, don't be intimidated by the prep work - the truth is, even if you're just rolling and cutting in, you would have to do the same amount of prep.

We used painter's tape to tape around the windows and baseboards. This is the bomb! Why?It has plastic attached to it.You apply the tape to the trim, then pull the plastic out to make a big swath of coverage. The ceiling line was applied with the same tape.

We covered the floor with a cloth.Adding a tacky back to the underside of a drop cloth was a masterstroke.

Bruno likes to keep his work area clean and he wanted us to wear plastic coverings on our feet.A floor guard for shoes would be a great addition to a winter cocktail party where people want to keep their fancy shoes on.Maybe.

We used a handheld paint sprayer. It can cover an 8x10 foot space in 5 minutes, which is perfect for an interior paint job. Before spraying, we added our paint to the sprayer and mixed in a bottle of Wagner's Paint Easy Additive to thin the paint and make it go on smoothly.Thinning your paint won't fool you into thinking the coverage will be poor. When paint is applied through a sprayed mist, the super-fine droplets land and attach to one another, making the finish smoother than the voice of Barry White.

Despite the fact that it was cold when we painted the room, we opened the windows. It's especially helpful when spraying a room because you have paint particles hanging in the air. It's important to wear a mask to keep the particles out of your lungs. The Flexio 590 doesn't over-spray as much as you might think. You won't feel like you're painting in the sky.

Bruno painted the walls in 20 minutes. It's all over.He was D-O-N-E for 20 minutes. Can you do it?

1.Keep a damp cloth in your pocket to periodically wipe the tip of the sprayer - it can get blocked as the paint begins to harden. This is important. You will need to wipe the tip more often than you think, but it will keep the sprayer from splattering. If your paint sprayer won't spray, it's because of a problem with the tip.You will have great results if you keep it clean.

2.You can change the spray pattern by adjusting the sprayer nozzle.A vertical nozzle creates a horizontal pattern.A round spray pattern can be created by putting the nozzle at a diagonal.

3.Stand close to the wall and keep your sprayer close by.Your painted area becomes thinner the further back you go.You can get a thick coat on the first try if you stand close to the wall.If you feel close to the wall, you're probably doing it correctly.

4.Pull your finger off thetrigger at the end of each pass to let the paint trail off, rather than doubling up an application by continuing to run the sprayer row after row.To ensure full coverage, overlap each spray pass by 50%.

After letting the paint cure for an hour, I removed the painter's tape and plastic film. The room was a perfect blank canvas because we folded up the drop cloth.

Before we show you all the pretty pictures of the finished room and talk about the design process, I want to make sure you understand how efficient the painting process was.We have an obligation to pass on the ease of this method because I feel like we have a golden key to Paintsville. It is a big deal.It makes painting easy.Try it.I promise you will break up with your roller.

Bruno and I don't know how to use the empty bedroom on the second floor. It was our baby boy's nursery when we first moved in, because our house was still under construction and our master bedroom was not finished. The room where all the misfit toys and furniture lands was the one where we moved him into a larger bedroom.I am aware that many of you have a room that is befallen by this sort of fate. It's a luxury to have a room like this, because you can close the door and forget about it.It's a big disappointment. The room was being used for a bad purpose.

It wouldn't get much use that way, so we decided to turn it into a den.Bruno was not in favor of having a television on the second floor. Our first-floor TV situation wasn't working. The only furniture we could sit on to watch a movie was a loveseat. We spent many Friday movie nights with kids on our laps.We needed a family-friendly sofa in our lives because our kids are too big to do this comfortably.

We were able to make the second-floor den happen in two weeks. We bought a rug, sofa, and tv, but not a giant screened beast, because I'm completely opposed to them and don't ever want to feel like I have an actual movie theater in my house.

I really like it.It feels a little more country than we've designed before. This is what I love about it.It's a little hideaway-y and retro, with a wall of wicker baskets from the 60s and 70s.It feels like it belongs in our house.

We're in love with our little den and happy that it's easy to transform it.I hope you will try spraying the next time you paint a wall because it will save you a lot of time and the results will be amazing.

All opinions are mine, thanks to the sponsors.Curbly and the brand partners help keep us going.

I agree! The result of spraying is stunning. It depends on the paint sprayer you use.I didn't like using one on our home.I've used a cheap paint sprayer. It was a back job.It looks like you have a great paint sprayer.I need to try that at our house. Thanks for sharing.

I am more confident taking on my new home project because of all the tips on painting.Where did you find this rug??
