How To Reset an Android Tablet

If you want to sell your device or correct an operating system malfunction, you can use a reset to wipe all personal data and restore the device to its original factory settings.The reset option can be found within the settings menu.

Step 1: You can back up your photos or videos.

All personal data will be erased when you reset your tablet, so you have to store any media you want to use in a cloud backup program.

Step 2: All contact information needs to be backed up.

All information from your Contacts folder will be deleted if you perform a reset.Select the option to copy contact information to your card from the menu.To sync your Contacts folder with Google, you need to navigate to "Contacts," tap on "Menu," and select "Accounts."

Step 3: From the Home screen of your tablet, tap on the menu and select the settings.

Step 4: To reset factory data, tap on "Privacy" and select "Factory data reset"

If you don't see the factory data reset option listed under Privacy, back out and select storage from the settings menu.

Step 5: The checkmark should be removed from the box next to the card to prevent deletion of personal data.

If you want your card wiped, leave the checkmark next to the card.

Step 6: The device needs to be reset.

After the device has been restored to its factory settings, it will wipe itself clean and restart.
