How to setup a file transfer protocol with a Linux hosting account.

You don't have to use FileZilla.You will need the following information to connect to your account if you want to use a different client.

You can type your site's domain name in the Host text box.Alternatively, you can type in the server's name.

In the Port text box, type 7822 if you want to connect using SFTP.The Port text box should be blank.

The Customer Portal password is the same as your account password.The Customer Portal can be used to view the password for your hosting account.

After it connects, you can specify a default directory to open on the remote server.Many people prefer to use an FTP client to access the website document root directory.Follow these steps to do this.

You can transfer files if your local computer has a connection with the A2 Hosting server.If you want to transfer files between your local computer and the A2 Hosting server, follow the steps in the Local site and Remote site panes.If you want to open a folder, double-click it.The file can be uploaded from the Local site to the remote site.The file appears in the remote site pane after the file transfer is complete.You can double-click on a file in the Local site pane.To download a file to a local computer, drag the file from the remote site to the local site.The file appears in the Local site pane after the file transfer is complete.You can double-click a file to download it.To transfer entire folders, drag the folder from the Local site to the Remote site.To download a folder to a local computer, drag the folder from the remote site to the local site.

You can transfer files if your local computer has a connection with the A2 Hosting server.There are two ways to see files on your local computer and on the A2 Hosting server.

All activity on the server is recorded in the log files.You can get information from the log files by opening a support ticket.If you use a dedicated server, you can check the logs located at /var/log/messages.
