How To Teach the Bible to Children

If you want to develop your child's religious education, exposing them to the Bible can be a good start.Whether you're teaching your own children at home or instructing a classroom of kids, starting with simple stories and fun activities for young kids is the best.

Step 1: Tell them an easy story from the Bible.

The stories of Adam and Eve, Noah and the ark, and Jesus calming the storm are some of the best.

Step 2: Tell your child that you want them to have fun.

Children will pay more attention if they are excited to learn about Jesus.Sound enthusiastic when you ask.

Step 3: It could be a fun activity or a story.

They will like the story even more if it's interactive and fun.

Step 4: Make sure you simplify it.

Don't get carried away by the deep biblical message. It should be fun and simple. It should be easy to understand and entertained.

Step 5: When reading a story, be active.

Don't be boring and read it.Sound excited, ask questions, and be silly. You can say "How can all those animals fit into a boat?" when you read Noah's ark.Did the penguins sleep with the lions?

Step 6: Prepare to answer questions and be open to them.

Your kids may ask, "Why did the flood come?" after hearing about Noah's ark."Why only two of each?"Don't tell them how bad the world is if they ask a question.Tell them the bad people were punished for their sins. This can turn into a life lesson.

Step 7: At the end of any activity, you should teach a Bible verse.

The Bible will help them remember it better. If you're instructing a whole class, memorize the verse, print the letters in large clear letters, or put them on a posterboard.Explain the verse and use childish terms. The children will like walking through the verse. It should be tied to the lesson. If possible, teach it to them through voice and song.Say the verse over and over.Repeated after you, use a variety of changes- whispering, loud voice, exaggerated motions. This is the Word of God.It's the best gift you can give the children.

Step 8: To tie it all in, make a craft based on the Bible story.

The Bible will be put into context by this. It's best to make the craft yourself. You can show your kids the end result by completing an example before class. If you're teaching a class, you should have everything ready to use.Let them know which materials will be used and where they can find them.Children are being taught to step by step.Show them how the craft is to come together slowly. To make sure they understand, ask questions along the way.Let them go when you communicate the time frame. The purpose of the craft needs to be communicated.During the assembly, use child like terms to remind them what the craft is supposed to do.They should be praised for every positive thing. If you're teaching a class, you should look at each child's work.No matter what the finished product looks like, praise them for their talents.

Step 9: Learning the Bible is an ongoing activity.

Continue reading to them.Make them excited to learn about Jesus and the Bible.Help them connect with God.As they grow up, allow them to love God on their own.Don't let it get to them.Help them to read the Bible on their own by encouraging them in their faith.Once they're old enough, help them set special times to read it.Let them know how much Jesus loves them. This is the most important part.Tell them how much he loves them and how he is their master piece.

Step 10: They should be taken to a Sunday school.

There are other young children learning the same Bible and Christian behaviors. They could be making long time Christian friends because they are growing up in the church.
