How To Tie a Pirate Bandana

A pirate bandana is a great accessory. There is a choice between the traditional pirate bandana where your hair is covered or the thinner look where the bandana is used as a headband. Both methods are easy to use and will make you look like a pirate.

Step 1: To create a triangle shape, fold the bandana in half.

Pull the bandana's tip to form a triangle on a flat surface. If you already have a triangle bandana, skip this step. The bandana is 90 centimetres wide and 35 centimetres long.A shorter bandana won't hang down as far as a longer bandana would.Buy bandanas from a dollar store or a dress-up store.

Step 2: The bandana should be placed across your forehead.

Pick up the bandana by the 2 opposite ends and place it on top of your head, just above your eyebrows. The bandana needs to be adjusted to the right. This will make you look like a pirate. If you want to hang your ponytail through the bandana, tie your hair up first.

Step 3: The bandana needs to be knotted on the opposite ends.

The bandana needs to be tied at the back of your head.If you are happy with the placement of the first knot, tie a second knot over the top.You will need this to keep the bandana in place.Behind the knot that you created, Tuck the overhanging corner.Just knot the bandana once if you are going to wear a pirate hat.It will be easier to fit the hat on your head with this.

Step 4: The bandana needs to be put into a headband.

Step 6: If you want a more dramatic look, drape a bandana over the knot.

Take the bandana off your head and place it on a flat surface. The second bandana should be over the first bandana. The material drapes either side if the middle of the second bandana is over the knot in the first. If you want to create a pirate look, use a bandana that is the same colour.bandanas with different colors and patterns can be used to create a unique look.

Step 7: The bandana should be tied around the first knot.

Take the bandana ends and knot them around the first knot. This will make the knot look more prominent and create more volume at the back of the bandana.A friend can help you see the back of your head.If you have decided to use only one bandana, skip this step.
