Stale Tobacco should be re-hydrated.

If you are a pipe smoker, you have dealt with tobacco that is not fresh.Sometimes you buy it from a store that doesn't seal well and it sits on the shelf too long. Some smokers prefer crispier tobacco. Here are a few ways to rehydrate the leaves.

Step 1: There is a teapot.

There is a tea basket on the top of the teapot. The tobacco will ruin if the top basket is touched by enough boiling water. The tobacco should be in the basket.Leave the teapot sitting for 30 minutes. If the tobacco is moist, check it.If it isn't tobacco, leave it in.

Step 2: Take a steam iron.

The steam iron should be pre-warmed to the hottest setting.A newspaper is placed on a heat resistant surface. You can spread your tobacco on the newspaper. To spray tobacco with water, use a spray nozzle.Let the steam go for 10 seconds if you hold the iron above the tobacco.Don't touch the iron with the tobacco.

Step 3: There is a vacuum sealed jar.

The tobacco should be in a salad bowl.Wet the tobacco with a spray-bottle and spray a fine mist over it.The tobacco should be mixed with a spoon or spatula. The jar has a rubber-gasket lid that screws down.Put the jar in the oven at 200 F for 20 minutes or until it feels hot to the touch. The jar should stand for ten minutes.Remove the jar and put it in a dry place.Don't open until the next morning.Pack tobacco tightly and seal the lid.

Step 4: Put an orange peel in the moisten.

The tobacco should be put in a plastic bag or jar.Take a quarter of an orange peel and put it in the bag.The bag should be sealed and left overnight. The tobacco and orange peel will be moist in the morning.

Step 5: You can use a Potato.

The tobacco should be put in a bag. There is a small piece of potato. The bag needs to be sealed. The tobacco will quickly moisten if you check the bag once every hour or so.

Step 6: You can use the bread.

The tobacco should be put in a bag.For small quantities, add a piece of bread or a half piece.Check the bag every few hours to make sure the tobacco is moist. If left overnight, the tobacco will become very moist.

Step 7: Asealable bag is used.

Spread the tobacco evenly over the towel. The tobacco can be misted with a spray bottle.Put your fingers in the mixture. When the tobacco is damp, repeat. The moistened tobacco should be put in a plastic bag with the rest of the tobacco. To mix thoroughly, shake the bag. It's best to wait half an hour or so.

Step 8: Put a cloth over it.

A wider bowl will provide better exposure. The bowl should be covered with a damp towel. The tobacco shouldn't be touched by the towel. To secure the cloth, use a rubber band. The tobacco should be checked every few hours. This method isn't likely to compromise the integrity of your tobacco.

Step 9: Use a sponge to moisten.

Cut off a small corner from a new foam sponge. The sponge should be damped by using water.Make sure the excess water isn't dripping.Add the tobacco to the container. The tobacco will get a boost from the damp sponge.
