If you do not need the equipment you have reserved please let us know by the day prior to your move date. You may change or cancel your reservation by accessing it online at https://www.uhaul.com/Orders/ or by contacting your local U-Haul representative or your pick up location.
Can U-Haul cancel your reservation?
With a U-Haul move, you can modify/cancel your reservation online by logging into your U-Haul account, contacting your local U-Haul representative via phone or at your pick up location. Contacting a representative at least 24 hours prior will help avoid any penalties.
Can I pick up my U-Haul late?
It is possible for your piece of equipment to have broken down or returned late by a previous customer. The scheduling office will do the best they can to find equipment available when you need it, but you may have to pick up at a different location.
Does U-Haul have a grace period?
Our goal is to provide our one-way customers with ample time to complete their move safely. While there is no discount for unused days, you are encouraged to return your rental equipment as soon as you're finished with it.
What happens if you turn in a U-Haul late?
The company says it doesn't have any late fees for truck rentals—but it will charge you for returning the truck late. An entire day's rental. So if you agreed to return your $40 truck by 10 a.m. on Thursday, you're technically responsible for another $40 at 10:01 a.m. Be sure to ask about a grace period if you're late.
What happens if I keep my U-Haul longer?
If you need extra days to move, make sure to plan this with the U-Haul employees at your local pickup location. According to U-Haul, the fees are: an additional $40 per day for U-Haul trucks; an additional $20 per day for U-Haul trailers; and an additional $20 per day for U-Haul towing devices.
Can you extend a U-Haul truck rental?
You can reserve an 8' pickup truck or 9' cargo van for an extended amount of time and/or use it for extended miles. By using our extended days/miles special rate, you can save on high mileage travel and longer term reservations.
Can you cancel a U-Haul reservation for free?
U-Haul requests you cancel your reservation 24 hours in advance, but there are no fees if you have to bail at the last minute.
