What's the best fluid to use in a parts washer?

I've used mineral spirits in parts washers with good results. From my reading water based solvents seem to work well only if you heat them up to 150-180 degrees. Hydrocarbon based stuff usually works well at room temps. Most machine shops I've worked for use the hydrocarbon based stuff.Jan 6, 2009
