How did Beowulf destroy the dragon?

In the land of the Danes and Geats, Beowulf was a great warrior.He defeated both of their mothers early in his life.Fifty years have passed and Beowulf is eighty years old.The king of the Danes paid him to fight the Dragon.The Dragon found a treasure buried in a cave.A man tried to take a cup away from the Dragon in order to escape the guilt of killing his brother.

Even though Beowulf was old, he decided to fight the Dragon.His warrior code wouldn't allow him to chicken out of a battle.He borrowed the sword from the king.The sword was melted by the Dragon as Beowulf battled without a weapon.The Dragon's blood was poisonous and he died when he bit Beowulf.Wiglaf was sent back to the cave to get some of the treasure he won from Beowulf.Before Beowulf dies, he orders a barrow to be made in his name and the new King of the Geats is named Wiglaf.
